Mancini will be sacked if we don't make the top 4 this season. Without question. I'll give a grand to the charity of your choice if he fails to deliver and keeps his job...

I have a feeling he would walk but not get fired.

Again, not a chance in hell. He'll want his pay out and he won't get it if he walks...

He'll hang on for dear life like Hughes did...

3 seasons in my opinion thats what the last one should have got sacking him when we did was barmy and sacking this one would be just as bad we must try and get a bit of stability in our club hughes mandate seemed to be top 6 last season and top 4 this something that didn't seem beyond the realms of possibility don't know what they expect of mancini something similar i would think and surely with the players we have now it should be possible no problems what ever happens i'll still be there

Thankfully it won't happen

Despite the fact I (and a lot of other City fans) have no confidence in Mancini, I have said he needs two seasons before we can really be sure he's not the right manager.

We hear the refrain "The team is gelling" from people defending him (and I accept there may be something in that) but if we carry on playing games like todays, when are people going to accept his time is up?

1) Xmas?
2) End of the season?
3) Next Xmas?
4) End of next season?

I want a serious discussion please.

How on earth can we discuss things seriously with you when you say:

a. I have no confidence in the manager

but

b. Lets give him two years

then

c. His time is up

Schizophrenic claptrap.
Even for some of the limited intellects on here, that's a pretty stupid statement. It's not Einstein's General Theory of Relativity.

I'm saying I have no confidence in him - that's my opinion and you're free to differ. But as a general point, I'm also saying I believe you have to give a manager two full seasons before you can be sure he's wrong. That's what we did with Pearce and, apart from some single-cell amoebas on here, most could see he was utterly out of his depth.

I'm asking when other people will accept the time has come for a change. For me the alarm bells should start ringing if there's no significant improvement this time next season.

Hypothetical question. If Mancini was sacked either Tomorrow or Monday would you except Rijkaard as his replacement?

why the fuck would we do that fffffffffs

apart from changing managers so often that get no chance to make a positive impact of course.............

great idea

lets carry on fucking ourselves up like we did for so long

theres plenty out there who'd enjoy it ;-)

I am trying to provide Balance to the topic ;)

"Mancini had nothing to do with it"

Why do we pay him then? Maybe an on-line poll to pick the team every week would work? What do you reckon?

Mancini set up todays team in the way he thought by which we would win with the players available to us. Now , if the players stopped being arsed after 15-20 minutes , how is that Mancini's fault? Only Silva and to an extent Adebayor actually did something today after that the first 15 minutes.

He picked the wrong team, the wrong formation and spent most of the game chasing his tail trying to sort it out.

It's Silva behind one of Ade or Balotelli all day long. To play both in front of Silva was balatant extravagance.

Finally, Boateng was our worst player yet played 90 minutes, 10 of those which were in central midfield. Today was a collective fuck up.

Make sure you have that grand at the end of the season ;) . I feel that Mancini will be given two full seasons by the owners since he was their choice added to the fact that Mancini is a good friend of the Sheikh ;).Anyway , i dont think that we will finish outside the top 4 this season. But if we do , i believe that he wont be sacked.

There you have an answer to your own question, hallelujah.

I'm convinced Mancini will get all of the season. Even if we hit a bad run, I can't see any knee jerk decisions from the owners. However, he is underpressure, and by that I don't mean he has 10 games to save himself, but after the money invested, and the calibre of players bought, he will be expected to be challenging the top 3 teams in the League. If we finish 4th but theres quite a big points gap between us and those top 3 teams, I can't see the owners being very impressed or viewing it as a very successful season, but they won't sack him. Finishing 4th is really the bare minimum, anything beneath that is just gross underachievement.

I thought Mancini did well last season. Came into a new League, had to learn a new language, a new team that wasn't really his own, and nearly guided us to 4th, which would have been a very good achievement considering the circumstances. Now things are different. He has had the benefit of those 6 months last season, is now more familiar with the League, has a better grasp of the language, and has bought his own players. Mancini has been given all the tools he needs to succeed, and can have no real excuses.
