I'm convinced Mancini will get all of the season. Even if we hit a bad run, I can't see any knee jerk decisions from the owners. However, he is underpressure, and by that I don't mean he has 10 games to save himself, but after the money invested, and the calibre of players bought, he will be expected to be challenging the top 3 teams in the League. If we finish 4th but theres quite a big points gap between us and those top 3 teams, I can't see the owners being very impressed or viewing it as a very successful season, but they won't sack him. Finishing 4th is really the bare minimum, anything beneath that is just gross underachievement.
I thought Mancini did well last season. Came into a new League, had to learn a new language, a new team that wasn't really his own, and nearly guided us to 4th, which would have been a very good achievement considering the circumstances. Now things are different. He has had the benefit of those 6 months last season, is now more familiar with the League, has a better grasp of the language, and has bought his own players. Mancini has been given all the tools he needs to succeed, and can have no real excuses.
