Thanks everyone. Seville is fast becoming an alternative.

Good choice - although as noted by several, be sure you understand how hot it is going to be before you commit! Thanks everyone. Seville is fast becoming an alternative.
I went a few years back.
It’s not the beautiful scenic historic Italy you get in other places - it’s quite concrete and industrial - but it’s got some nice bars, restaurants and loads of shops if you’re into that kind of thing.
I went on a tour of the San Siro too. It’s an enormous shithole. Had to literally climb over piles of smashed concrete to get there from the metro station.
Seville an excellent choice. Thanks everyone. Seville is fast becoming an alternative.
Siena is beautiful and surprisingly cheap :)If you go a bit further south you will have nicer weather and a nicer location.
I would think about Pisa or Florence. Not only are the cities beautiful in themselves but they are surrounded by fantastic countryside, olive oil, sunflower and wine producing areas, and wonderful but lesser visited cities like Lucca, Siena and Volterra. Or try Viareggio (20 mins up the coast from Pisa) for a beach break and some art-deco architecture
And Fiorentina’s ground is worth a visit, but I suspect that’s more your thing than hers!
Beautiful City, very civilised. Shuts for 3 hours in the afternoons. We’re looking for a city break for our honeymoon later in the summer and fancy somewhere new.
The missus wants sun, I want to visit a decent stadium. Flights to Seville and hotels are a decent price.
Any bluemooners got experience of the city or any advice?
