Shamima Begum

They haven’t and from what I have read as a layman here, any charges brought would be difficult to prove and chances of her being found not guilty pretty good.

She knows this, her advisors know this and that’s why they now want home to face justice.

We all know she is guilty though. She has admitted it in camera and even described terror attacks as being reasonable in her mind and that the life she left for under ISIS was what she wanted as she fully supported their aims.

Denying her citizenship isn’t perfect but it’s the best way to protect the British public from someone who is a credible danger imo.
So we're not letting her back because she's not guilty of anything so we can't send her to prison? Sounds reasonable.
We have literally hundreds of returned IS fighters in the country yet we make an example of this one?
I'm the first to say there may be a credible threat posed by aspects of the (non) case that only the security services and home sec know, but personally I think she's just easy fodder to sacrifice to the far right islamophobes. I'm sure if we can cope with Martin McGuiness and the most dangerous IRA terrorists being on the streets for decades we can handle this.

I hear the argument mate, I’m just completely unsympathetic to it in her case and I would feel the same and wish we had applied this to all who went out to live and fight under ISIS rule.

Government have took a stance and so far our courts have backed it and that’s good enough for me.

All the courts have done is agreed that UK law as it stands doesn’t stop the government doing what they want. They are not in a position to change a law that clearly contravenes international law because international law is not under their jurisdiction, and they do not have the power to make or change laws - only to interpret them. That’s not the same as the courts backing the government’s stance. In fact they thought it was wrong but not illegal under UK law.

The notion that she presents a more real and credible danger to this country than the numerous other ISIS defectors that have been allowed to return to the UK is clearly absurd. She is evidently not very bright, but obviously should face justice over here, as someone born in this country. To try and rid ourselves of that responsibility is shameful and pathetic. Even fucking Jacob Rees-Mogg can see that.

Seems there’s a few on here who can’t understand this very straightforward point. Either that or they’ve convinced themselves that she’s a cross between Professor Moriarty, Harold Shipman and Osama Bin Laden so it’s worth making our country look stupid and lose goodwill with other friendly countries just to keep her out.

I just think they’re so consumed by their hatred of her, specifically, that any logic or reason seems to go out of the window.
