Shay

Still a very good keeper but he's been on bad run of form lately. Great shot stopper but he'll always struggle with crosses, you cant defy the laws of tallness.
What some of us said when we signed him, he's pulled us out of the poo and been very good but he'll always have that weekness.

How does the kid from Everton manage to defy such laws then?....Is fuller actually taller than Given, he never even jumped Saturday. 6ft tall and can use his hands....he's tall enough alright....it's something else restricting him (us).

He's been found out. One of his strong point was that he never seems to drop any clangers but that went out the window last night.

"No he's not an amazing all round keeper but Van Nistelrooy wasn't an amazing all round striker either, that doesn't mean he wasn't one of this generations best. Football is about doing what you do well, not trying to do every single thing possible, and Given's shot stopping ability and competancy in all other aspects bar coming for crosses far outweigh a keeper who is average at every single facet of goalkeeping".

If you look into it Ant you might find footballs all about....wait for it.....TEAMWORK, it's the very reason Fergie told Vanistle to pack 'em and fuck off after listening to him constantly chatting about the 24 goals HE had scored and offering this up for a yardstick to why he should be first on the team sheet. Of course Fergusons view was of a manager of a team and after explaing to him that 12 impossible attempts on goal that could have been squared and easilly dispatched creating a minimum of 6 extra goals and a minimum of 5 extra points and a minimum of a premier league trophy sat on the sideboard...he very obviously realised that at this level the fella was'nt good enough and freed him to see if he could pick up champions league medals elsewhere. We call the fella but he knows well enough the devil is in the details.

All this Shay is a bad keeper is total bollox brought on by sentiment towards our on loan keeper who's playing out of his skin and on current form is the best in premier league.Same as when dunnie left and started playing well for villa , Lescott was deemed not up to the job and no doubt when Tevez goes 4 or 5 games without a goal and word gets back that Robinho is scoring for fun in Brazil we'll have this very same thread just under a new name

so a good keeper turned shit overnight then? what the fuck is wrong with some of you clowns. Its called a poor run of form.

No keepers are perfect though. Hart should have done better with the goal he conceded against Derby, yet no one mentions it.

I've seen little mention of Adam Johnson's wild miscued clearance that led to the shot in the first place.

There aren't many better than Shay and he saved us a lot of points earlier on in the season. He's hit a slightly rough patch, but he'll bounce back...if we support him and don't get on his back like we seem to with every player who struggles.

Funnily enough, many rate Buffon as the best in the world but he dropped some absolute clangers at weekend against Genoa. 2 of which led to goals.

'A poor run of form'....it was certainly poor to watch Rooney head (you just read that right) a football from within Givens 6 yard area with Given stood on the line....but it's nowt to do with form (clowns possibly).

Thats because Buffon is on his way to City and has made his frustration public for all to hear.

Its not ideal but in some ways understandable that his mind is on being elsewhere.

Maybe Shat suspects the same as well?
