Silva and the derby

I thought yesterday him and yaya were awful....
These two are the main players we need on form for next monday

Agree with this, Yaya especially, game was just passing him by. At least Silva was getting on the ball, he just wasn't doing a lot with it. Yaya is possibly our most important player against the Rags though and it's crucial he is at his best. In the semi final he had Scholes AND Carrick running scared, he was bossing that midfield practically on his own. We need that Yaya on Monday night and nothing less. Nasri and Tevez could pick up the slack from Silva but we have no-one who can do the same with Yaya.

I would like to see us sing significantly for Silva ;] I know we need to sing for the team throughout the whole game but maybe some strong Silva singing will help the lad find himself? Alliterationful.

Like Ratface has said, when we are in the attacking third and can't produce on the endlines with our fullbacks or creative players will be stifled. And for much of the game they were.

i dont mind giving him a rub down every day this week to make sure he's nimble for the derby

:-)

He only played for an hour on Sunday and will have a week break before the derby, a big game and a long rest I think Silva will produce a similar performance to the derby at OT

The world seems to think that since we beat them so badly away, that we'll surely win at home. But I'm not seeing it without Silva returning to his early season form.

Aguero and Tevez are capable of winning the game on their own. Then again, so are Rooney and Nani.

What concerns me is that most people seem to forget that at OT Ballotelli's first goal was against the run of play, and City didn't start to dominate until Evans was sent off for virtually the entire second half.

With 22 players on the pitch it will almost certainly be a very close affair. And United only need a draw and they're playing away. It could be that the pressure is on City.

I wish the game was tonight.

Never thought I'd say this, but Silva has been our worst player in several recent games - really poor and lacklustre... but I'm pretty sure that everyone (on both sides) will be up for the Derby ... can't imagine anyone not giving their all in this one.

He's had some personal problems, his mind is all over the place at the minute. Hopefully he'll be back to his best soon.
