Interestingly, back in the summer of 2010 City were linked with both players. The view then was that Silva was a class above the kind of player that would sign for City, and that he was bound for Chelsea. Ozil, on the other hand, was a realistic target for us. Then, Del Bosque gave him permission to sort out his transfer, said he was too preoccupied with his move to play in the WC, and he signed....for City.
Both are excellent players, but the media are so Londoncentric that all the best goals are scored there, the footballer of the year always plays there, the best attacking team in the country is a London club and the best "footballing" team of all times and all places is a London team... Has anyone ever seen a goal to compare with the sheer poetry of Cockney Jack the Lad's masterpiece on Saturday?!
