Yep, I'm expecting this too and strangely, I won't be entirely happy to see it.
I said on Saturday that it'll make me even more angry if they do, not because they've turned up, but because they have failed to do so in so many "lesser" games.

They have no right to do that, and it tells you all you need to know about some of them if it happens.

I would have to say yes, sadly, if either tactics or application are in question on Wednesday.

It might require something radical just to inject a shot of renewed optimism to stay in the top four in our remaining games.

The players have badly let down Pellegrini at times, but too many games remain for us to have the luxury of coasting.

Vieira isn't the immediate long term solution but if he is asked to make a dramatic impact, it could well prove right time right place, even if he were to become the eventual No.2.

We know better than anyone how freakish events can turn towards the run-in.

We have benefitted in the past, but who can say it won't turn against us.
Are you trying to get us ready for pellers getting sacked should the inevitable happen Wednesday?

Absolutely not. Just offering an opinion in the context of the question raised in this thread.

We could still put a wining run together but that would be more likely under PV
Why would it ? Give us some evidence, there is none.

I'm not anti PV, in fact I' very pro him, but not now, and giving him 8 or 9 games, may well see us miss out on a CL spot (yes we could miss out either way), and it could set the club back 2 or 3 years. It might also significantly jeopardise his chances of actually becoming the manager of the club long term, as I doubt he'd be willing to step up for a couple of months, then return to his previous role.

He needs to be advanced into the position in a more shall we say "holistic" way, and by that I mean that I'd prefer to see him take on the role of number two or a while.
There is no evidence, how could there be? Other than his record as a player and the job he has done since he arrived at City. There is hard evidence though that MP for whatever reason, is not getting a performance from the squad and does not have the capability or motivation to change things and get us back to at least the sum of our parts. Yes it would be high risk but at the moment our current momentum is taking us backwards at a rate of knots. Decisive action may be needed within a week depending on results and performance in the next 2 games if we are to finish top 4.

dont want him sacked I want him to adapt to the teams in front of him

sadly he wont

think it would be a huge risk to sack him before the end of the season however

so i vote to keep him and give him a chance to pull it around - and show us he can change tactics to suit oppostion

Not that we should pander to the peanut gallery, but it would be fantastic one day for City to lead the way in this league by giving a black manager a chance at a club with real ambitions.
I hope we do it at the right time, when he's ready, and on plan, and that is not now imho. If we gave him 8 or 9 games now, and then returned him to the EDS in June to appoint Klopp, Pep, or even 'arry f'kin redknapp, we'd be crucified by said gallery.

who are these players who people believe are not trying??

I see maybe toure and dzeko thou with the latter I just believe he's crap

I've separated the two sentences above, because one has nothing to do with the other, the thread was whether PV should be appointed now, not whether MP should go, or change his methods, these are all covered in many other threads. All my comments in the thread are the reasons why I would say no at the moment, go back to the points I listed earlier and feel free to discuss them.

Actually there may well be evidence for PV getting the job now, but none of us fans have seen it, others at the club might have. He may well be highly respected by the first team players, but since we have rarely (if ever) seen him have any interactions with them, who on here can know ?

I'd love to see Patrick as manager and I know a lot would say now isn't the right time but when would there be a right time? There will never be a time at this club where games are meaningless... unless we've already won the league or we've already secured top 3 and can't catch or be caught...

Those scenarios are very unlikely... It would be a risk to throw Patrick in but he is a footballing man and we've got enough quality to finish in the top 4 regardless of who is managing in my opinion. The failure this season has been motivation and consistency - you could argue that's down to the manager or you could argue it's the players - the truth is a combination really.

Getting PV in before the end of the season would at least allow a full pre-season to get in the players we want (I'm sure PV could attract the top talent) he would also be likely to show trust in young players considering he knows them so well. I think we would benefit from another year with PV at the EDS but if given the chance I'm sure he would do well. It would be great to see someone of such high regard manage our club, someone loved by most fans of the league and respected by all. It would also be good to see a black manager at a top club - it's mad that we are in 2015 and there is still such a shortage considering the number of top black players we've seen over the past decades.
