Singing End - Would You Relocate?

It is the only way the atmosphere will be sorted out. People react to their surroundings and if you are situated with like-minded people you behave similar.

I have benefitted from the value gold card the last two seasons. Last year I was in 142 and I dont know if there were similar value gold card members in there last year but the atmosphere improved no end and I was singing continuously throughout the game. This year it seems a lot quieter. This year I am in 303 and sit there in stony silence like everyone else. Not a criticism of the club as I am fortunate to benefit from the deal but I do wonder if this affected the atmosphere in this part of the ground.

No way Jose!! Organised chanting/singing whatever you like to call it is not the way.

Dortmund proved it is the way.
Aris proved.
Poznan proved.
Napoli proved

If you want to Chant, stay where you are and have the "banter"
with tourists taking pictures of "English Hooligans"

Want to sing and back the team, rather than sing about Rags all night, Join this Section. An exception on the Derby :P

Dont think we have enough of these likeminded fans to make it happen.

I believe we do have enough, it's just they are all scattered in small areas, possibly on their own at the match sat with strangers. a recipe for no atmosphere.

No reason why we couldnt get drums, anyone who doesnt like it, don't sit there?

Really good idea, I would deffinately invest my time into it! We should contact MCFC about potentially organising an experiment for it in a CL game v Ajax or RM that hasn't come on sale, or just organise it amongst ourselves?

My only dispute to the idea is let's not call ourselves ultras! We will get ripped on by everyone! Maybe call ourselves MCFC fans (fanatic) section? Or anything a bit less cringeworthy haha!

Exactly. if you don't like it, don't move, stay where you are, there is no force.

I don't think this should be a trial though. No one game trial, it has to be a commitment amongst loyal fans, people who have seasoncards.

The trial Blue Alliance helped organise was a good idea but it ended up in loads of daytrippers getting tickets in this section with no intention of singing.

I wouldn't because of my pop but I would wish you all well.

Ah, you could of been the big guy who always takes his top off in the winter :(
Haha, on games where he couldn't make it I would run around.

I know what you mean. But for example I would love to stand and sing in 110/111 or the southstand but I couldnt handle having a shit view like they do. The way prices are going though I might be forced into it soon!

I just look at the trials we had and we couldnt even fill the end with standers never mind singers!

The problem with all this, in effect is we all ready have this with the singing section and the south stand. Its going to be impossible to create a singing end without asking fans to move to other areas which will be resisted by fans already in those blocks.

We have these ends but they just arent making the impact.

Taking a couple of quotes out of context does not enhance your argument. If you had read my post properly there is NO mention of me having 'banter' with away fans. Where I sit, in the centre of the CB L1, is nowhere near away fans or tourists taking photos of English Hooligans!!

As for singing about the rags, I only do that on Derby day, why give them a thought apart from when they play against us? And backing the team? I think the fact that I attend every match home and away shows that I do support the team!!

The Blue Alliance for me just seems a group of lads who know each other, go out on the piss and have given themselves a title.

The Stag Doo of Football...

What a load of bollocks, don't assume things.

For three years I (I who started The Blue Alliance) used to travel to all the City games on my own. I then met Felix. We started going together. We had similar ideas to those that you have posted on here. How could we attract people to get together? Give ourselves a name on the internet so it was easier to organise travel etc.

In the 3 years since it began we have met a lot of like minded people. In fact everyone I travel to games with I didn't know before the takeover. So we're not some clique of about 10 people who thought it would be a cool idea to call ourselves that. And what pisses me off quite a bit is that I've PM'd you before about coming to our meetings etc. because you seem keen, yet I still wouldn't know who you are if you came up to me. We are NOT a closed book.

Everything you've posted on here is things that I've wanted before. Things I've had meeting at the club with at length. Things I've written about. And what it boils down to is this:

!) There is not as much interest as you think for people to be singing for 90 minutes.

2) The club have strict guidelines to keep to from police, council and footballing bodies (UEFA needed to know what size the bags of confetti were going to be last night ffs and we had 50 large flags made up for the QPR game last year - club wouldn't let them in the ground.)

By all means, contact the club, set up meetings and try and feel like your getting somewhere. If you do it then fair play, you've succeeded where I've failed. But be prepared for plenty of faceless people thinking you're a twat who wants attention.

Funnily enough, it's the 4th October today, and on the 2nd October 2009 I wrote this:

<a class="postlink" href="http://mcfctba.blogspot.co.uk/2009/10/blue-alliance-fan-revolution-starts.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://mcfctba.blogspot.co.uk/2009/10/b ... tarts.html</a>

You are more than welcome to come down to our CD recording we're doing on Saturday night after the Sunderland game, if you've got some new song ideas.

IMO if you moved the away fans the atmosphere would drop.

The SS and block 109-111 thrive off the away fans.

Last year when we had the full end behind the goal, it wasn't brilliant and there was people sitting down in areas.
