Singing End - Would You Relocate?

Doesn't every team sing more at away matches.

Maybe create room for this by having a section for late comers, half time pissers and drinkers, early leavers.

It's a really difficult one to judge, especially when considering the relocation of some 'non-singing' fans who enjoy being in and around the 'singing' section. Just playing Devil's Advocate for a second - if I was aware of an ultra style area moving into my section and I was a non-singer and was just there for the football, once I've agreed to be part of it simply because I do want to remain in my seat, I do want to be within a decent atmosphere, but ultimately don't want to sing - who is there to vet me to make sure I'm 'ultra' material?

Once there is a chink in the idea with the odd few blokes dotted around the ultra section just because they didn't want to move but knew full well they didn't want to sing, then surely the whole thing loses force.

I am for it, but the practicalities are extremely difficult. It will certainly need the club's involvement

IMO if you moved the away fans the atmosphere would drop.

The SS and block 109-111 thrive off the away fans.

Last year when we had the full end behind the goal, it wasn't brilliant and there was people sitting down in areas.

I've already dispelled this shit, a few times now, getting repetitive.

The Ultras are organised, they would sing in an empty stadium on their own like this.
They don't need this aggressive banter culture... Danny Dyer in a City shirt eh, who'd thought it?

The Trial last season was a failure because many people who would of relocated and sang did not. Why? organisation again.

There was loads of unsold seats that went to daytrippers with no intention to sing.

That Trial section was rammed full of tourists and I know because I was in there around them all trying to get things going.
One guy was taking pictures of me?? haha...

I have a drum and would be more than willing to bring it along should an ultra's section be arranged.

It needs something, I have been in the South stands for 5-6 years come from Colin Bell lv2 to get involved however finding myself singing on my own or standing in silence. May as well be in silence with a decent view.

The club need to be on side and make this happen, next season dedicate a section as the ultra section clear people out of there seats, yes people will be upset and kick up a fuss at first but 2-3 years down the line when we have a fortress will be worth it.

New songs will have to be made to accomadate the drum, drumming to 'were not really here' or the 'Yaya' song will sound like a none league shed outfit or even worse Pompey.

Whereabouts in South stand are you bud?

And I agree %100 about these songs. chanting is funny and whatnot but in the stadium they don't drift around like a song does.
We do however have stuff like the Yaya/Kolo that does sound good if organised properly with everyone in a section doing it.

We do have the framework for this in TBA already, it just seems a large chunk of people where they are located in the stadium wouldn't be up for this type of thing.

I am in 112 and always sing (even last night when surrounded by loads of empty seats??? ) I would love to say yes to relocating and I would be 100% behind such a move, but as someone pointed out earlier some of us are not as young or fit as we used to be, and being a fifty year old fat fucker even the odd Poznan takes it out of me. So I may have to stay where I am and carry on abusing away fans.

This can happen but it will take five years to get it in full flow in my opinion.

There are too many ridiculous regulations the club has to go through with Uefa and the Police to get this going full on. Health and safety etc etc.. is a joke in England.

Fwiw Ste I think you've established there's enough people out there to make the idea of a trial worthwhile. Rather than argue the same points back and forth with people that skim through the thread and miss earlier posts I would suggest trying to open up some kind of dialogue with the club - without this, this idea will never get off the ground as it just cannot happen without their input.

As has already been mentioned, and taking on WNRH's ideas, I would approach them with the idea of making several hundred seats available for the Ajax game in the north stand available to fans that want to partake in this trial, from there you've got a clear and concise way of organising this.
