Sir Joe ?

I watched the Gillingham game last night also. Did you notice how vocal the commentator was when Gillingham scored as opposed to our goals.
A lot of those tackles wouldn't be allowed today and there were two handball instances for each side that would have been given by VAR.
Still a great watch.
Mate, 93:20 would probably be ruled out under fucking VAR.

Good man and a very underrated manager and can I add a certain Willie Donachie to that list, very good coach who clearly was highly respected by all that worked with him. And like Joe a scholar and gentleman.

Some of the best times I had watching City. Sure we've seen better quality football now, but I got to go to grounds I've never seen before, saw Kevin Horlock sent off for agressive walking at Bournemouth and I still get a shiver when thinking of the 28th Dec game when Stoke went in 1-0 up at half time.

Joe gave some team talk 'cos we reaped the whirlwind in the 2nd half and blew them away. The fight from our players was just awesome, the crowd in full voice egging the boys on and a 2-1 victory that set us on our way to Wembley.

I was in the kippax that day with my dad

That was more out of surprise than an agenda. There wasn't an agenda then. They'd never been in the 2nd tier of English football so it was a David and Goliath battle and I think their voices rise because of that.

Those handballs still shake me now. Ignore VAR, there's at least one I think they should have had a penalty for!

The Gillingham games is mad. United had just won the treble when we played them. It's 22 years later, but crazy to think we have just been in a European Cup final. We might have lost but it is still such a huge rise. And of those 22 years, the next 5-6 were still a rollercoaster, and we nearly went bust before the ADUG takeover.

No history.

And in his playing days he was a top old fashioned striker for us.
Got to say never got him as a player for us, but I think he had knee issues when he played for us and was never the same player he was at Everton.

Kiddo made Joe Royal at City, that was a good partnership, Kiddo was a superb player for us.

Got loads of history - I have just converted a dozen VHS tapes to USB from the 20th century - still a load to do. Some super football, goals, players, games played on paddocks (including the league cup final at Wembley after the Horses ripped the pitch up). And it had snowed as well - I should know, my wife and I were there and shivered for much of the game.
And those trolls that do not think we have European history - a few weeks later we won the Cup Winners Cup.
