Six Nations 2024

I felt sorry for Scotland yesterday. On the balance of probabilities that was a try however to prove absolute certainty was impossible.
Can’t help thinking they could have gone through a couple more phases though.
Congratulations to England too who had enough muscle and know how to edge it.
Wales had one outstanding try but didn’t look like scoring second half.
Winnett, Dyer, Wainwright and Reffel were excellent. Kicking high balls to the best full back in the World though? And conceding a try when opponents were two down wtf ?
Thought Earls did well for that try showed power and determination ( in fairness I like his style ) then I saw it from behind the posts our 10 shat himself and our no 8 and wing forward not covering themselves in glory.
Had a great chance in the second half where we bombed it short of the line, then gave a soft penalty to England for the win.
No shame in loosing to the world cup semi finalists ;-)
Ireland are good.

The difference between how the Irish and English play is massive, the Irish are exciting to watch, fast and expansive, England dull and predictable.
Wish we had Farrell instead of Borthwick.
If Ireland don't win the slam, serious questions would need to be asked. They're so far ahead of the other 5 right now. The game between them and France was always likely to decide the destination of the championship. And Ireland demolished them. In Paris.

This Irish group they have look settled. Also some of the younger teams are also dominant in the past years too. I honestly think Ireland have the squad there to do good things in years to come.
Today McCluskey in for Aki / Ringrose 4th choice centre was strong with the carries he had and got in some tackles too any of the other Home Nations he would be starting all the time.

The pack is strong as ever Joe McCarthy has been the highlight so far big strong and fast out of the line and in the tackle.

The only downside today was Hugo Keenan going off injured. Not sure if he will miss any games but he's the best fullback by far that we have so if he is out we might see Zebo back in around the squad. The options Farrell has to pick from is endless in most areas barring the front row.

I’ve enjoyed all the Six Nations games so far. Ireland are light years ahead of the rest. England and Wales are 2 ordinary teams in transition but England did well to get the comeback win. Scotland have impressed and were unlucky not to beat France.

England’s Achilles heel continues to be poor handling and indiscipline. Sort the discipline and they might pick up another win in this Six Nations.

England have played the worst two sides and 'edged' both.
Wales are in complete re-build mode and Italy, whilst playing an expansive game, are still poor.

We will get destroyed by Ireland and Scotland.
France???
We could win by 3 but lose by 30! The French are stunning and can score tries from anywhere.
But they have the ability to have a real off day. Not one where a couple of players struggle but where all of them do.

For a young team in transition Wales are being competitive so I think they will get better might not win a game this year but that squad will be better in the long term. I think Gatts is going to rebuild that into a better team overall.
England there the sleeping giant sleepwalking to wins in the first 2 games I would just be wary of England now.

We have though as we hear it retrospectively, yet fans still aren’t happy with the process. Unless a decision is in your tesm’s favour, it’s corrupt, whatever it is.
If this process was truly above board, they would release the recordings of the Rashford offside incident. Things might be a little more transparent now that they are releasing selected VAR commentaries, but that is no guarantee that up to that point, the system wasn't bent.

Football law makers could learn a lot from rugby, but they don't really want to. Football already has ways of dealing with dissent, diving, feigning injury, foul play. If these things occur, show a yellow card and issue a caution. If the same player commits another offence, show a second yellow card and send him off. That would put a stop to these things.

Instead of this, football law makers accept that dissent and foul play are part of the game, and worthy of interim punishments. Just make your referees apply the laws correctly, and the problems will soon disappear.

When rugby started moving free kicks 10 yards forward when a player so much as spoke to a referee, the problem stopped immediately. You never see this having to be applied anymore. Football referees are their own worst enemies.

Ireland and Wales are set to play each other in their traditional plain green and red shirts for the final time during a Guinness Six Nations game.

The green-red combination is a particular issue for colour-blind supporters, and it will surface again in next week's Dublin clash between the countries.
