Six Nations 2024

England v Wales was two bald blokes fighting over a comb.
Both poor sides

Impossible to disagree with that.

Yes we have won the first 2 games but this England side under Borthwick is turgid.

Forget cycles and time to build, his isn’t the right man, the crowd yesterday wasn’t happy at all and his days are numbered even now. I expect us to lose against Scotland, France and of course Ireland, heavily and he shouldn’t see past those games.

Scotland scored a try there but to be fair to the officials, the on field call of no try which was correct, couldn’t be overruled unless you could 100% prove grounding and whilst we all know it was grounded, no one could 100% prove it so the right call, no matter how unfortunate and communicated brilliantly.
Agree completely. It still blows my mind the difference in standards of refereeing and use of VAR/TMO. That try/no try was handled impeccably.

It was a try, simple. Everyone in the ground and watching knew it was a try and the TMO said it’s on the ground and the ref could be heard saying he has seen it roll off the foot onto the ground.

At that point change your mind and award the try but for some reason, the TMO asks for one more look and instructs the ref to stick with his no try decision?

Garbage, the ref should have the final say, not the TMO and the ref having seen the grounding and admitting as much should award the try.

They got it badly wrong yesterday but his behind the on field decision and only in that respect could you say it was correct.

Tough on Scotland.

The referee did have the final decision. His in play decision stood. That was his conclusion given the TMO footage presented to him. Yes tough on Scotland, 95% sure it was a try. Needed to be 100% though.

My understanding is that everyone saw the ball roll off the foot.
What couldn't be seen was the bottom of the ball on the grass.

If that had happened in football, this conversation would have the words bent and corruption in it.
