Sky Q

Yeah I would agree as a sky Q user but i now just so used to hitting the record button and catching it up later.
You are still mising the point, sky are the sports provider, you can't tell me they think people don't want to watch it live and be reminded when it is about to start,we are not all trendy youngsters who watch everything on record and catch up,i use everything

Anyway forget alexa on my tablet for reminders, she won't use uk time, everything is set to uk time but she will only use american time, are the hubs the same?

The noise from the box sound like someone mowing the lawn a few houses down, ive had to ballance the box off the back of the tv stand to reduce the noise.
Also the sound cuts off for a split second every 30 second or so. But that ptoblem comes and goes and is resolved by switching the standby button off/on.
We had a similar problem as soon as it was fitted. The box had to be changed and latest software has to be updated

Well thanks for calling me trendy youngster but my 49th birthday yesterday and my bad back yesterday tells me i am anything but ;-)

I agree, it should be on but im also saying it isnt a deal breaker for me at least.

Alexa should be on UK time, do a full reset and setup on it.

I like the speech function as I have to put the subtitles on when my Grandma watches tv and it stops me having to go through sub menus.

The rest is worse than sky+. No reminders and no way of skipping to a certain time in recorded programmes. For example after I get back from the match, I didn’t fancy watching the whole 90 mins of the West Ham game again, but wanted to see what narrative they were using in the pre match, half time and post match analysis.

Although not as good skipping to an exact time, i have found a way of speed skipping.
Normally, the max speed for fast forwarding is 30x speed. But i have found you can pause the recording, then press left or right on the direction buttons to move the time slider to the place you want to watch from etc...

On the Q2 box if you record a program then it automatically carries on with the full series and also has the propensity to offer similar programs of the same genre, so par-example if you have a fixation for ambulances it will offer you every ambulance program that has ever been aired. Quite a smart piece of kit albeit with a loss of a few features like the record feature mentioned above. Ours has never crashed and appears stable and I would not go back to the basic box as the Q2 has the ability to offer UHD. If licence enforcement are looking on in then I just made all of the above up just so I could be a part of this thread and also I am not called Bob and am not a Cowboy and simply abhor the use of firearms: That is all.

I’ll give it a try, thanks
