Sneaky barstewards - Cypriot banking crisis

Just had a meeting with some German customers. Their take is that Merkel may well be forcing this through on the basis that Cyprus are bound to refuse and will therefore default and be kicked out of the Euro and maybe the EU. If that happens to such a small country it won't greatly affect the rest of Europe but could be used as a threat to anyone else to keep them in line in their words, "do what we say or the same will happen to you"

I think it makes sense, and is what would probably be best for Cyprus. I never understood why Ireland didn't do the same and join sterling

It will be mate, dont think they burn cars in Protaras, Nicosia and Limassol maybe but not Protaras

If youv never been to Protaras before its great, one of the best beaches and bay of crystal clear water you will ever see at Fig Tree Bay, nice strip of bars and restaurants as well, bw a bit quiet end of April though, take a coat gets a bit nippy at night

Ah great, yeah first time going to Cyprus, really looking forward to it.
Prefer something bit quieter to be honest as taking the kids so not worried about nightlife etc.
For a change of scenery and more shops etc Ayia Napa is just down the road, dont worry it is quiet in April nice beach as well

Yeah,we'll be heading down that way for at least one of the days to go to the water park,it looks awesome.Any other recommendations for things to do while we're there ?

Hire a car they drive on same side as us, drive to Kykkos monastary high up in Troodos mountains its breathtaking.
Ayia Napa again for boat trips, dolphin and turtle watching, Nicosia is great stand on the green line which divides the Greek south from the Turkish north.
Limassol is good for shopping, expect to see hordes of Russians, and dont put money in banks LOL

For all those who want or think Cyprus should be out of the euro then this would be the Euros downfall . End of...

Please do not compare Cyprus to portugal, ireland or spain. When Cyprus starts raking in the trillions in two years , they will show the big middle finger to Germans and the rest in the EU if they so not get the help now.

Fools are those who think Cyprus is nothing but a poor country. They may be begging now but, they are the next gas oligarchs.
