That method of calculation before the end of the group is statistically flawed for the reasons I have outlined above. It means CSKA have 'played' 33% more 'head to heads' than City or Roma despite having played the same overall number of games. It's a statistically confusing way of measuring the table at this stage imo.

It also points out that "Standings are provisional until all group matches have been played" which alludes to the point GDM made above. Which means any TV station or website that has us bottom is incorrect (I've seen that it on Sporting Life and Guardian sites).

Well call me old fashioned , but we have a better goal difference , and we havent been mullered 5-1 or 7-1 , so taking a leaf out of the dipper book of "hard luck stories" , we are the morally 2nd place champions of the group , now wheres that open top bus when you need it.
