Yep totally agree, Maureen changed tactics and turned a 5-3 defeat into a 2-0 win, we'd have played the same and lost 5-3 again
This is the first I've heard of this debate, but City's statement suggests to me that the sanctions will continue to apply throughout this summer's window. Otherwise they'd have said "by the end of the 2014-2015 season" rather than "at the commencement of the 2015-16 season".Chippy_boy said:bigkatnyc said:Chippy_boy said:No.
UEFA Settlement: "Manchester City agrees to significantly limit spending in the transfer market for seasons 2014/2015 and 2015/2016."
First I've read that...from City's statement back in May....
The nature of conditions that will result in the lifting of sanctions means that the Club expects to be operating without sanction or restriction at the commencement of the 2015-16 season.

This has been much debated. The UEFA statement is crystal clear, and yet so is ours. Seems unthinkable that one side has got it totally wrong, so...
IMHO the only logical conclusion is that UEFA have imposed a transfer limit of (say) £75m and we have thought "that's OK, we weren't planning on spending that much anyway", and therefore we were able to say we'll be operating without restriction.
But whatever the interpretation, the UEFA ruling is clear that we will be restricted in transfer spending for the next two windows.
Yes that's possible - I hadn't considered that.Dubai Blue said:This is the first I've heard of this debate, but City's statement suggests to me that the sanctions will continue to apply throughout this summer's window. Agreed. At the earliest. Those two statements tell me that we'll be waiting til January 2016 at the earliest before we are free of sanctions.
So we are doomed then, doomed I tell thee.Chippy_boy said:Yes that's possible - I hadn't considered that.Dubai Blue said:This is the first I've heard of this debate, but City's statement suggests to me that the sanctions will continue to apply throughout this summer's window. Khaldoon told us all we were about to take a pinch and a pinch we re having to take but it wont last forever.
We all need to calm down and stop trying to second guess every decision being made by those in charge of the club because so far, they have done a remarkable job.
