My grandma died in 1981 2 weeks before the cup final and it was sung at the crem in Southern Cemetery.
Was the first funeral I'd attended when we were expected to sing (hadn't been to too many to be honest) needless to say I didn't / couldn't sing...
So when it was sung at Wembley 2 weeks later I sang it with tears for my grandma..... and every time I hear it to this day I think of her....

My old man is still with us but this song gets me since my missus lost her Dad on 7/7, yes, the 7/7 so it's a little raw every anniversary (not in the terrorist attack,,,,, i must add that, Parkinson's, a fucking horrible disease)
