I ain't bud...Sorry I just can't see myself in that stadium in 10yrs time, I won't be affording that premium product.

Well if I keep wearing condoms and don't get a mortgage I could still afford to be a Blue, maybe?

Just a reality.

I don't know where you get this from - the rags are already at the top table as a global brand and manage to keep their prices competitive and accessable - except for the compilsary cup scheme.

The Rags have 75k stadium to fill.

The new owners want this in the ground:

Which will price me out.

If the stadium is increased but increased with Safe Standing then there might be a possibility of me renewing my SC with an affordable price.

I just don't want myself and many other Blues to be left behind you know?

Sure the success is great, our owners have been superb so far - but how could I enjoy it when I'm missing out?

And even if I was there and it was rammed with the Horse Racing Corporate Prawn Sandwich types - I wouldn't enjoy the success as there would be no traditional atmosphere.

This isn't a Moan...Just a stark conclusion that I'll be priced out :(

To be honest mate, we really don't know what will happen, best to just fooking enjoy for now and see what transpires

Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano wants to tap into “the unique identity of Manchester” when trying to win new fans around the world.

The former Barcelona supremo wants the club to play on its ties to the city’s culture and heritage as part of its quest to become “one of the most successful and sustainable football clubs in the world.”

“As we grow, the unique identity of Manchester must remain at the heart of our communication with potential supporters around the world.
This is fantastic to read.

United and Arsenal like to talk about us being some rich man's plaything, but this is exactly why we're not. We're building a global brand, but that doesn't mean we have to sell out our heritage. In fact, it's an asset. It's our character, what sets us apart.

In one way or another, Manchester can claim to be the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, capitalism, communism, feminism, the first proper computer, and the first passenger railway. In our day, we were in the top 10 cities in the world.

Not FC City. Not Team City. Manchester City. And proud.

Barcelona are a world wide brand, with tourists coming out of their ears.

But you couldn't find a stronger representation of Catalan identity than FCB.

It's a simple - Manchester heritage and all that will mean f. all to some average foreigner, it's a city rivalry with one of the biggest football brands on the world that's behind Manchester as marketing weapon for City.

It was when SM decided to buy City and it would be as long as City completely establish themselves on the World's football scene.

It would be silly to not use that potential.

It's great to read that MANCHESTER will be at the centre of our branding. Why the outrage over so much lately from City fans (the "Ever Blue" thing too as countless people choose to ignore it'd be OPTIONAL)? It's inevitable we become a global brand but at least this shows our heart and soul - being a proud local club - will be at the centre of it, unlike United who completely abandoned their local heritage and are as much an Asian or London club now as Greater Manchester club.

If City genuinely wanted to brand themselves as Manchester club it wouldn't build brand "City" as it does in all it's projects but it would include Manchester in it.

I'm afraid Manchester part is only to please you local guys and to milk rivalry with United.

We've always call ourselves "City" and "Come on City!" is sung at every match. Just because it's used in advertising campaigns doesn't mean we're abandoning the "Manchester". What sounds better "Cityecademy" or "Manchester Cityecademy" (<a class="postlink" href="http://ecademy.mcfc.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://ecademy.mcfc.co.uk/</a> - BTW this name came about long before Soriano arrived). "Man City" is more of a foreign term to me than "City" as it literally shortens "Manchester".

Our biggest flag at the ground says "WELCOME TO MANCHESTER". The new Connell Club and Mancunian Suites are full of Mancunian heritage features. Soriano comes from a club that values it's local heritage and this line makes me feel he sees the same sort of branding opportunities in City: "Since joining Manchester City my first priority has been to deepen my understanding of the club, its history and operations."

I understand, "the real Manchester club" is thing that came to my mind as one of the marketing options and I concur it's not bad one. Though that sign again had lot more with milking rags city rivalry than Manchester heritage.

But still fail to see what would focusing on that bring in marketing club to worldwide fan base. Local ones - definitely, but global, not sure..

Eh, whatever, let's them make it big brand, however they want as far as I'm concerned.
