Let's get a grip blues.

Getting on Micah's back because the ref played on until the rags scored again is not the answer. Micah also scored (in reality) the first goal against Arsenal and set up Bellamy's goal that swung the entire game for us. And the entire defence, not just MR was asleep when Rosicky made it 4-2. We take the rough with the smooth, and while they're in the team we back our players.

Or, we can make another Richard Edgehill out of him if we want.

Let's face facts. We have now just gone toe to toe with 2 of the top four sides in Europe (based on the Champions League semi finals last season) and we have not been found wanting on either occasion. The media was writing us off as a bunch of overpaid mercenaries before the season and now they are accepting us as genuine top 4 contenders if not championship contenders. Let's focus on that, and not on Micah having an off day.

Finally some sense.

i too was annoyed at given hitting the ball long every time, but what can he do, we have two defensive midfielders who defend in front of the back four,(barry will occasionaly move forward )that leaves ireland stranded alone in midfield so the opposition are on the frontfoot for large parts of all of our games

I watched during the Blackburn game at the start of the season and the amount of room he gave Pederson down the wing straight in front of us was frightening.
He's playng better than last season-his heading has improved 100%- but he's still making the same silly mistakes.
He simply has to stop drifting constantly into the middle when we're under pressure.
A couple of seasons ago his tremendous pace got him out of trouble when his reading of the game sometimes let him down....but he's too big a unit now to turn and make up the ground when faced with a winger with pace.

Against teams like Bolton and Stoke who don't break at great speed he'll be fine-as with Bridge,it's the top sides that will see him as an exploitable weakness.

Sad-but true.

The guy is seriously out of shape, have to be helen keller not to see it. Just because he's built like the proverbial shithouse doesn't make him fit. He's lethargic in everything he does, likes a good toot by all accounts, which is more than evident in his fading in games. Conundrum time chubaka....... either you want to be part of this or your happy pissing away your potential? And I know you read this forum...... a little advice, channel the negativity into positivity like stevie, otherwise i see a frank sinclair on our hands rather than a Desailly.

Poor show boys, we have one of the most promising defenders in the world on our books and we are making him a scape goat for every goal we concede, poor show.

The first goal at the swamp wasn't his fault.... the 2nd goal... I saw Barry get out jumped at the far stick by Fletcher...don't know what everybody else saw....the 3rd goal was a freekick played into the heart of our defence and Fletcher had a free header... the 4th goal I saw a poor freekick played into our box,it didn't reach, Ireland had a free header to clear, he skyed it to Tevez who headed it straight to one of their players who gave it Giggs who gave it Owen, we should have been on the break but we gave it away and paid the penalty...to blame it all on Richards like I say, poor show boys.
We have a brand new set of players who could achieve great things here for themselves and for us, why get negative about a young very talented player? I really do not get it, poor show.

I've not said anything yet as I don't like ear bashing young players, Micah has'nt yet matures enough to cope with the interllectual side of the game. When he does he will be a world class player, but it's all about time at the moment and how much Hughes has.

I think most on here have learnt there lesson with Ireland, but I think most on here are saying much the same....Great things to come if he gets that thinking part of his game sorted, for me it's all down to maturity.

Come on Micah.

It is lazyness with Richards. Going back to last season, there were too occasions last season where him ambling back cost us goals. Against Stoke and against liverpool (both away). He almost caught the crosser, but for some reason slacked off and let him cross.

I've seen him go forward countless times, lose the ball, and then stroll back while players have to cover his position.

I don't know what the solution is, but i do know we need quality full backs to challenge for a title. Bridge probably is good enough, Richards clearly isn't.

The simple reason why Micah Richards will NEVER reach the heights that all hoped, wanted and EXPECTED him to is very simple. You can see it in his face. You can see it when he talks and gives interviews. You can definitely see it when you look into his eyes.

The poor lad is as dumb as a chicken. I mean look at him. You can see it in his blank expression. The lights may well be on, but there is nobody home. He can have all the natural raw talent in world, which is what we witnessed at his best. But when he comes up against the more intelligent players he'll get absolutely ripped to pieces. As we know all to well.

Unfortunately this was proven YET AGAIN by that dirty long term king rag Ryan Giggs. he's 143 years old and he was able to make poor Micah look like a moron. Why? Because no matter how old he is, he still possesses one of the best footballing brains in the business.

All the truly world class defenders in history have had a good brain on them (Maldini, Nesta, Moore, Beckenbauer, Adams etc). there are the odd exceptions of course. I mean let's face it. Rio the Rag isn't exactly blessed in the Cerebral department in every day life (again just watch him go in interviews, Priceless). But on the pitch for some reason, his reading of the game has been top class down the years (Except on Sunday, Ha Ha Ha).

This unfortunately is something young Micah can never learn. That type of footballing intelligence is something you either have or haven't got. And he simply hasn't I'm afraid. It's even more obvious at CB than at RB. just look at the man immediately to his left in our team. Kolo Toure has a fantastic footballing brain. And is probably a very astute man off the field also. Thats why he's World class. Lescott seems like a bright spark too as do Bridge and Zabaleta. And young Nedum is one of the most intelligent men in the game, Literally. He boasts several Uni degrees to his name. He made sure he kept up with his studying just in case his football career fell through.

Nedum could well make it to be one of the true greats of the game (Injury permitting). unfortunately Micah IMO never will.

Prove me wrong Micah! (Please prove me wrong)
