Spot on, the finest leader I can remember. Nobody in this current team comes close to himWe haven’t got a vinny kompany that’s for sure so the answer is none .
Palmer is on a par with Kelechi and not good enough at the top level but could still have a good career elsewherePalmer gets bigged up massively on Twitter and I've been aboard the hype train but recently I just feel he's not ever going to be at this level. I'd ask how many assists, goals, or assist to an assist he has but I suppose that would be a little unfair as he often comes on late.
I rate the keeper as back up.
When we first got Gomez I was very impressed. I still think he could be decent for us.
Walker just seemed to have an off game, Phillips not played enough to judge him on last night, Foden looking a bit like he wasn't up for it.
Pep rates Gundo, he always proves me wrong but I always feel he's not suited for many of the games he plays.
I think they just weren't up for it. Or that arsed.
I think we have only played really well in around 5/6 games all season. We really need a win in the next 2 games to put them fuckers back in their box and make it a two horse race and to banish the demons of Tottenham!I agree. But while winning is great, winning ALL the time isn't good for us as a fanbase. Our humour, our resilience, our attachment to the club was built in tougher times. A bit of Typical City is good for the soul and good for the new fan to know what it's like. Like so many of us I never supported City because they were winning, I supported them because I grew up near the ground and when I went there I felt at home there and the Blues I knew were nice people. A bit of adversity reminds me of the old days - but the advantage we have on the old days is that it doesn't feel terminal, it's nowhere near as bad.
We are in a transitional period. We're adjusting to a post-Haaland style of playing. Some of the guys who have been the bedrock of the team are getting older (Gundo, KDB) or want away (Bernardo). We have no Arteta, Juanma's gone, and I don't know if Enzo Maresca has the relationship with Pep that his predecessors in the assistant role did.
We have made some brilliant signings but we have also made some more questionable signings - and sales - as any club will do. 'Smaller' teams appear to have Pep and us worked out. It isn't just Everton, Brentford, So'ton - Palace and Fulham were threatening, and we allowed Brighton way too much possession...we haven't looked ourselves since United.
But for now I'm relaxed. I'll stay relaxed as long as Pep shows a bit more, dare I say it, humility, or simplicity, in his approach, more willingness to change what isn't working. The earlier substitutions are a sign. But we need fewer experiments in which players are out of position, a bit more trust in the individual creativity of the players and a bit less dependence on a system which is making us predictable to lower ranked sides.
All that said, ALL the top sides are showing vulnerabilities, and ultimately it will come down to competition between the top sides. A win in the derby and all will well be again, just how we felt just last Sunday.
Dias is a leader and his absence is felt. That said, he is the only member of the current 23 out thru injury. Does anyone have an explanation for the wild shifts in player selections, formations, tactics, and such Pep insists on employing game to game because I certainly don't. It can't be down to Pep is Pep, he is great, and everyone just STFU. He had virtually his entire squad at his disposal yesterday and chose to go with Walker at CB. Along with some other eyebrow raising decisions it failed miserably so "he knows what's he doing" doesn't come close to working as an explanation. Even a notorious tinkerer like Pep has his limits, but what's been going on most of this season is hard to explain. Thoughts? We haven’t got a vinny kompany that’s for sure so the answer is none .
Telling which team was which due to the colour clash was a nightmare, but it wasn't helped by the fact that we were playing the ball backwards most of the time.Had to switch to "sports mode" which on my LG is hideously garish so I could differentiate the two teams. Had I waited of course I could have done the same by looking who actually wanted to play football......
Woah woah there, that was the rags excuse down there after a battering.Telling which team was which due to the colour clash was a nightmare, but it wasn't helped by the fact that we were playing the ball backwards most of the time.
Very honest of Gundo. Fair play to him. In any group dynamics there will always be issues that arise, it’s how you deal with them that counts. Not the first time, won’t be the last. Let’s see how Pep and the lads react on Saturday, proof will be in the pudding. Not impressed by Gundo's comments today which suggest, as others have speculated, that all is not 100% rosy behind the scenes at the moment. Can't think of any positives from last night in terms of player performances and was genuinely surprised how bad some were.
As ever with City now, some whopping big games just around the corner and how play in them will go a long way to determining how things go for us this season.
