Southampton (A) - Post Match Thread

I was disappointed we didn't take our chances last night, as I'm sure most of us were.
However, before City set such an incredibly high bar, the result should be seen for what it is; a good away score draw.
We need to stop thinking we have an entitlement to win every game. We don't.

Fair result. Well done Southampton. But another absolute piss easy chance missed by Sterling which would probably have seen us go on to win it. Get rid and get full time goal scorer.
In recent weeks I recall piss easy chance being missed by Bernardo and Jack, so Raz is not alone in missing sitters, although he doe have previous

After 2 VAR decisions against City, confirmation today that Operation PiGMOL really has started after the ridiculous penalty given to the Dippers. Jiota put his right leg into the goalkeeper, with the ball going out, so it should have been a free-kick to Palace.

Probably the worst VAR penalty I've seen.

last PL round is Soton-Liverpool, you can bet your life on it if it still has any factor for the title Hasenhuttl will not ask any of this pressing, raise your game attitude vs Klopp.

we need to make sure we win it before it by winning games and go onto another winning run.

this first half Sterling miss was very costly, something we cannot afford keep happening regularly.

Soton's goal was much more harder to score especially for a right back who according to wikipedia has not fucking scored in his life before yesterday, is that possible?

then how Sterling fucks up sitters regularly.

Pool cuts the gap down to 6 points all this with them missing Mane, Keita, Salah. I would have preferred to widen the gap not the other way around under African Nations Cup.

2 weeks off now, we need to rip apart next two PL opponents Bentford and Norwich without fucking about.

Liverpool were still winning with 5 minutes to go so not sure it would have made a huge difference but it was a poor decision.

i know me and many on here do go over the top with sterling but misses like yesterday are common with him
they can me big game changers and you have to take them in games when you are under pressure or not playing well

criticism is a good thing and nobody in the city team should be above it ? sterling was rightly pelted yesterday and had a shocker not just with the sitter
Constructive criticism is a good thing, abuse and constant pelters isn't, Ask Richard Edghill

Exactly this. VAR was attempting to determine whether or not the foul occurred in or out of the area - implicit in this was the recognition that a foul HAD occurred. Therefore, once the decision is made that it occurred outside, it seems perverse to then reset the game as a goal kick/corner, rather than award a free kick. The officials are acknowledging a foul has been committed, yet the defending team get off Scot free.
another one who doesn't understand VAR's remit ffs how many years has it been in place???

pelters criticism are the same thing really ? abuse in any form is wrong
but a footballers life and getting well paid sort comes with the package of knowing you will get pelters from somebody even from some of your home fans.

sterling knows better than anybody else after that miss he was going to get criticize by everybody ? he will be the first to step up and say he should be knocking that in. he understand that the criticism is a fair point as long it does not cross the line and taken to far.
