When you say 'spoling almost every discussion', I think you meant disagreeing with your view of a situation.

I'm guessing you're not a big fan of free speech?
Did you actually read my post or did you just skim through it?

Got no problem with the opinions Halfmist is sharing. I don't agree with them but hey, not everyone's the same. But this is about a double-murder in Southport committed by someone born in Cardiff. The victims are children. Why are we discussing immigration and things being "woke"? And why does this happen in almost every thread that's deal with a sensitive or contentious issue? There are threads in which discuss immigration or "PC gone mad" and neither of them are this one.

Just a question to you, what is being discussed by fellow officers/law makers to rectify this situation or the ideas being floated around. I'm privy to threat information in my job and on a specialist team for when incidents happen - I'm on leave or I'd have been there yesterday.
I cannot speak for everyone but police in general get frustrated at the 'revolving door' effect when it comes to a lot of 'crimes'.

Personally I believe in stromg sentencing and supported use of police powers (S&S for example) but the real answers long term can only come from addressing a whole range of socio-economic factors/inequalities, erosion of life chances that we are wintnessing.

Couple with that of course you need a well resourced, effective police force but its only part of the puzzle.

The solution is a problem when you have no police on the ground and no room in prisons.

As said the cost of drastice public spending cuts as we witnessed before in the 80s.

In the 90s there was a serious crackdown on crime and we witnessed a big drop in crime.
indeed-austerity crippled public servives and generally we all pay the cost.

Thank you for that.

I read your whole post.

It 'happens in almost every thread' because once we've expressed our revulsion at what happened and our sympathy with the victims' families, it's natural to speculate.

@Eccles Blue's Post is correct. Probably best to wait for more information, but people being people...

In the Airport thread there was a lot of speculation and confusion. A lot of backtracking ensued.
Is the same happening here?
We really need to wait until the facts come out rather than speculation. IMHO.
Another issue due to social media.

Nicola Bulley and Jay Slater recently, appaling speculation and the reality was tragic and simple.

People need to learn to trust the police investigation and almost certain public inquiry.

As said before, it's still something this country does better than anyone.

All our thoughts and words should be with the parents and victims. giving them our love and support.

It’s not necessary to post the deranged ramblings of a far right nutter on here. Twitter’s full of them plus we’ve got a few of our own on here. You’re absolutely right that it should be about the tragedy. Posting that shite is the opposite though.
I'm in full agreement with you WD Blue.

I think that's the stage were now at though where people deem cheap point scoring on Social Media normal after a shocking event like this, opposed to focusing on the more important issues of what those 15 families are currently going through.
