They blackmailed the UEFA, Football League & FA with threat of a European League & got their Premier League & Champions League out of it.

You could imagine a situation where they end up with guaranteed qualification plus more money, for the 'elite' teams, which of course would include those bent Milan c.unts

Your reference to Milan is very apt. That’s what this is about - a few of the “old guard” are struggling in their domestic leagues - and they see a European Super league as a way of reasserting themselves both domestically and in Europe. The way things are going a certain team in Trafford will be joining that bandwagon

Neither of us is knocking our owners. Far from it. We’ve been incredibly fortunate. However, this is an entirely realistic possibility in my opinion.

Agree. If this went ahead, particularly with 11 clubs not being relegated for 20 years, it would have dire financial consequences on the club if we were not part of it.

I am not knocking the owners but I have always taken a pragmatic view as to why they bought City that it was based on exposure, diversifying business interests and developing a foothold in a global marketplace with the associated benefits. Sadly If they believe the Super League benefits this model, rather than being willing victims I think they could be at the forefront of those discussions.

Personally I hope the success of the Premiership, associated bad press, complexity of leaving the national leagues will envourage all the english clubs to maintain the status quo because without the english clubs involvement it is not much of a super league.

If their primary motive is the promotion of Abu Dabi, it might turn out differently.

Could this be a chance to take the piss out of the the so called big 5 that thought they could take the largest slice of the pie on the formation of the premier league Scum, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton. And the twats that tried to carve up the European Competition Bayern, Real Madrid, Barca, Juventus and others. Could we be the only team that can compete in this league whilst continuing to play in the domestic league. We could be our own feeder club. I don’t think it will happen, and if we walk away from English football I am finished with the game, but if we can compete in both won’t that be the icing on the cake.

American business mentality, it s a sham of an idea for money grabbing cocksnots. Domestic leagues have history, something year in year out makes it more precious. Never mess with that, the love of the game in its purest form is at stake. whoever pushes this should be shot imo.
