This is the problem.

To be honest, I’ve gone through the ‘don’t be a tight arse and just split the bill angle’ and said I’m only paying for what me and Mrs have done. First I got stick , now everyone does the same.

Also - get whoever is organising to pre book what meal they want, and if anyone wants drinks then go to the bar separately for them if it caters for that.

Easy peasy, our local pub/resturant takes the order via email the day before. Everyone ordered, no faffing around.

The waitress always asks us how we want to deal with the bill beforehand.
Six of us went out last week and we got three bills at the end.
Usually, if the waitress just brings one bill at the end (commonly known as a “clusterfuck”, I will just round up what our bill is and throw extra on the table.
Catching people put in less than they owe (resulting in a shitty tip for the waitress), generally ends up with the term, “cheap ****” getting thrown around.

A lot of places in England point blank refuse to do that.
