Spurs’ new stadium

Where do the FA Rules change. At amature level, if a team can't forefil the fixture they forefit the 3 points, 3-0 win to us or they play it at our ground.
Simple. Unfair on Spurs, but it their fucking problem.

It is the Premier League's rules as it is their competition.
I wouldn't say it would be unfair on Spurs, anyway. The fixture list discussions for the following year start in November and they knew full well when Wembley would be booked up - for the NFL at least.
They also paid the FA an option fee to secure the dates last year.
I have no sympathy for the Spurs management whatsoever.

Absolutely. It’s Spurs’ responsibility alone to ensure that they can host the game on the advertised date. I was merely correcting the inaccuracies in the post that I quoted.

By the way, despite all the debate in this thread, there is no confirmation yet that the new stadium will not be ready by 28th October.

2019 ?

I expect the game to be played in mid Jan in FA cup 3rd round replay week.if ours or Spurs 3rd round games require a replay they will be played on 4th round day.
Jan is busy enough if a club is in two cup comps and after a gruelling Xmas period. Needs to be played in early December if possible. I cannot understand why nothing has been confirmed.

It's the most likely 1st available date.
WHL is unlikely to be available and Wembley will be a turnip field for two weeks after the NFL triple header.
There are then NO available fixture dates till League Cup QF week 18/19 Dec and one of City/Spurs are bound to be in the QF. It would also be a Thurs fixture.
They could next play it in the League cup semi weeks if neither of us/Spurs get that far - but a weeks rest after the hectic Christmas schedule would be prefered and again it would be a Thursday fixture.

It's astonishing that someone as putatively streetwise and good at negotiating as Levey didn't realise some time ago that building contractors are basically full of shit.

Levy is part of the problem - he’s managing a huge project in his penny pinching manner but doesn’t know what the fuck he’s doing.

Levy’s certainly no accountant. £400mill est cost to end up at £1 bill? Makes Wembley seem prudent in comparison.

Still, at least they’ll have a fit for purpose stadium.....oh and not forgetting the cheese room
