Spurs (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

OK, the goal conceded was one of those things, but the fact that the defence wasn’t changed and the introductions of de Bruyne and Gundog were far too late. Apart from Ake and Grealish, the team didn’t turn up today, this is happening too often. We will struggle to finish in the top four and do they even see Erling? His positional sense was great today, but never got a chance because his colleagues seemed blind .

We’re a mess.
That’s a shocking Spurs team we’ve lost to.
my observations….

Rodri’s worst game in ages. But least he doesn’t hide, he does look tired, but we seem to have no plan B if we need to rest him.

Lewis is class but he’s over played.

Akanji whilst quality and does nothing wrong, shouldn’t be playing ahead of Dias, Laporte or Stones.

Silva seems to have lost his desire to run back.

Mahrez is soft as shit.

Haaland, fuck me how frustrated must this lad be?

We’ve lost our identity. Our best players from recent years are either old or out of form (or both).

Best way to sum up for me…
We resemble Pellegrinis last year.
Said it before i think he (pep) is losing the dressing room

So disjointed at the moment. This city team is a far cry from the great teams we’ve had in the past. Problem is Pep is working with players that lack quality and don’t understand his system and he looks so frustrated. I really don’t expect us to win anything this season. We’ve regressed and other teams have improved.

Whats everyone getting stressed for?
We Always lose at Spurs.
We lost last season.
We lost today.
We’ll lose next season.
This is what just happens………….

……..and it pisses you off!
But i feel for the travelling fans
It's not the game it's the season.
Even a blind man can see something ain't right.

This is Pep's doing.

Egotistical to just pick players who smile and are happy in training.

Is it so hard to just pick the best players and put them in their best position?

Dias and Laporte should be starting.

Rodri always needs a player alongside him as he can't play like prime Fernandinho as he's too slow.

Push KDB up further forward as Haaland is far too isolated.

Tell the players to fucking play the ball through to Haaland and not take 5 touches before playing it sidways.

We have major problems in the dressing and it’s clear to see . Never thought pep would walk but I think the dressing room is Turning and if it does we will be looking for a new manager in the sumner . That was shit today .

It's a poor league thank god. Not even arsenal who are top would have won a title in any other year.

Summat is hugely up with us but as outsiders we can only guess what the problems are.
Same as the Leicester year when we were wank in Pellers last season

If the opponent welcomes you into their end, your wingers sit absurdly high and their only move is to cut in, and the rest of your team sits above a centrally organized defense like a cloud … how would your striker ever get the ball?

Not a chance of that I'm afraid unless we change tactics. What's the point of having a 6' 4 ' monster and not feeding him. " Feed the Norse and he will score "
Absolutely! After signing the striker everybody wanted, you'd have thought any City midfielder receiving the ball would be looking to feed one of his many runs in behind, but time & time again they pass it sideways as if they're scared of giving the ball away.

Looking at the replay of their goal it strikes me that we were setup as if we are a team that plays long, but still tried to play short passes into feet. You can’t change the way you play overnight. It does feel like Pep has overthought things again in a big game, and it’s cost us again.

it's over for everything, lost the dressing room only means one thing, the manager leaves,
now It's up to the club to address what they want from this season, just let it just wind down and rebuild in the summer or let the manger leave with grace on his own terms and bring in somebody short term,

Pep knows, We know, Everybody else knows, time is up Pep can do no more for our club

The match went as expected in all honesty.

We look completely toothless upfront nowadays and the system as a whole looks completely broken.

From the players who played last year we have lost a lot of the ‘footballers’ in the side whether it be Laporte, Cancelo, Zinkchenko Stones, Foden, additional midfielder as a striker and the replacements Ake/Lewis/Akanje/Grealish/Haaland are a step down in quality in that regard.

Haaland brings other qualities, and lots of them, but were not utilising them.

Last season we seemed to be constantly getting overloads in wide positions, getting in behind sides but now its square, slow passes and hopeful crosses into the box.

The system we have played in previous years is broken as we have lost the ‘footballers’ to implement it.

We are a mess at the moment:

Players not interested/looking for an out/end of deal & looking for a new pay day:
Silva, Gundogan.

Not 100% fit or Woefully out of form:
Walker, Stones, Dias, Laporte, Phillips, Foden, KDB, Rodri.

That lot are the core of our best 11.

Pep and the board have a big job to do this summer, with such erratic form the league is now unlikely this year, Arsenal drop points and we don't take advantage.

We have been spoilt over the last few years, the odd player injured or out of form has been cover by others, this season it's happening to many at the same time.

FA cup and Champions league will have to do.... hopefully.

On a brighter note, look at Liverpool.
Fa cup and champions league will have to do???

The players don’t believe in Pep’s system anymore, the confidence is gone and they look lost. The Spuds goal was yet another self inflicted disaster, only a few weeks after we did exactly the same at home. Fuck about and lose it, they pounce. Then of course they have eighty minutes to hang onto it, they don’t need to take any chances and can shithouse their way home knowing the usual PiGMOL **** of a referee will give them every fifty fifty. letting Cancelo go with no replacement seemed petulant. I think Pep will walk at the end of the season and I will wish him well.

Then Foden and everyone else has to go, Pep stays.
