Now it's all calmed down.

First half was fine. Shit end to it.
Second half was chaotic but it sort of had to be. Great determination to come back.
Pep's comments afterwards were a bit unexpected but will hopefully have the desired effect.

Also, "Lads, it's Spurs".

Our goalie, can’t remember his name and he only played a few games made some world class saves In the second half. Unbelievable comeback away with 10 men for the whole second half. Think we got knocked out in the next round.

And more attempts of hitting the byline by our wingers is probably a coincidence

Akanji, 6 - a mixed night, some good, some bad, in a weird run of form

Rodri, 7 - not his fault for the first goal, his usual self second half
Gundogan, 7 - always steady and controlled
Grealish, 7 - played at a good tempo I thought, could have had a bit more cutting edge

Alvarez, 8 - always active and pesky, great finish for his goal
Haaland, 8 - did what he's there to do, score big goals

Stones 6? Watch it again. He was imperious. You clearly didn’t watch the full game.

Ederson glances over to Stones as he's about to play the ball and then spots Rodri, so is caught in two minds whom to pass to. It was poor of Ederson not to hold his hands up instead of blaming Rodri.

That was bullshit and I hope he apologised to him, privately.

Can't blame him for the second goal as he was reacting to the first effort and to contort himself for the snap header from the ground? You either make it or don't.

I was at the game so only saw some of the post match but Izzy C is a brilliant pundit.
 
I had a brain scan at 7.45 last night and had to rush home to watch the match on TV. I missed the first 15-20 minutes but was told that it was going well when I arrived home. I thought Spurs had an excellent front three but behind them there wasn't too much. As half time approached, though, I was getting rather concerned that City looked to be having the better of it but had created next to nothing and only had one shot on target - the same as Spurs. Then everything went mad! Eddie decided to play a ball to Rodri, on his "wrong" side, while 5 white shirts converged on him and no team mate near! 1-0 down! And then one long ball down the middle put us under real pressure and put us two down. 0-0 after 45 mins: 0-2 when the whistle went for half time! I didn't boo - I was at home - but my language was decidedly fruity, not because I don't support the team but because that performance was ridiculously bad when we think what that team is capable of. I think those at the ground had behaved like supporters rather than spectators and I could understand the booing, which was an opinion of the referee as well as of the performance.

The second half was different again. What seemed to vanish was this style of play which demands 25 passes which go sideways or backwards while Erling makes his run into the area, so that he has to be stationary and flat footed when the ball arrives in the box. Grealish and Mahrez (among others) were running harder and faster and taking players on. City had raised the tempo, and what a difference it made. It helped that Spurs are very poor defensively for a counter attacking team and last night's come back may have been impossible against others of our rivals, but wasn't it great to see City beginning to remember who we are. And the crowd responded. There could be no complaints last night - when given something to shout about they shouted, and loudly. There's still work to do, but the first steps were taken last night - and all our benched stars had better take notice.

The rags and barcodes get round it due to 'safety reasons' although I don't know what those reasons are.

The same reasons that prevent Rags from having proper VAR, replay screens, adequate leg room in the away section seats, safe concourse in the away section, a railway station that isn't permanently closed "elf & safety" a security team that can find fake bombs, locks on the doors to prevent mass break in before ko, anti air raid defence - 1 for the FOC's, and accruing a mountain of debt and still being the biggest spenders in the league "they generate their own don't you know"

UnRagulated that lot, different rule book.

Our attendance to capacity ratio has been awesome for years - and over several years a better attendance to capacity ratio than Liverpool. Anfield is compact and you don't notice ten empty seats on a row. Our ground was built for all day comfort - a bit more leg room than most grounds. Ten empty seats in an area stand out a mile. Same at West Ham - clonking big crowds but if there's ten empty seats they stand out a mile. If we price fans out of going, it could be embarrassing. Are you confident that without a lot of thought given to pricing we would immediately fill an expanded stadium every week ? To me it's a price thing - we have the fan base.
