Spurs (H) - Post-Match Thread

A poor/average team with good strikers stands a decent chance of beating a team with no strikers. All we can do is regroup and hope Cancelo and Rodri can pick it up again.

Cancelo goes through periods when he is fantastic then has a spell where he is a bit meh...happened last season, hence he disappeared at the end of the season and didn't play in the CL Final, and it's happening again now...that was a truly shit show from him today, lazy tracking back and making the wrong decisions going forward.
Remember that awful 0-2 home derby when he was horrible, occasionally he does have regi blinkers and against the better teams it’s costly.

Well, the only positives from this game, is Pep will be able to use this performance as an example why the players need to be on it in training every day and listen to what it is he's telling them because standards can slip fast if they aren't doing that. He'll also have a lot to point to for the players individually, for them to work on. To make sure they aren't the weak spot of the team, for other teams to target.

Also, it's not often we lose. There's always going to be bad performances, it helps you appreciate how good we have it most of the time. It also gives us perspective, most of the time(like when we only win 1 or 2 - nil), when we say we've been awful, we really haven't. Sometimes we're just not at our best(impossible to be at your best 100% of the time) and a little unlucky.

Summed up pretty well here

Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan, speaking to Sky Sports: "I remember us being here before the match saying we need to be careful when we lose the ball in transitions.

"It feels in all three goals we invited them to score. We gave the ball away too easily.

"It didn't feel very hard because they defended very deep. For some parts of the game we moved the ball quite well, we created enough chances to score goals.

"But we gave the ball away, and I haven't seen that from us in some time to give away so many chances.

"There is a long way to go [in the title race], if we didn't know before we know now.

"Now we've got to work hard over the next couple of weeks."
Top player and the only midfielder to come out of that game with any credit.

Why are pep or the players not allowed to be criticised when performance isn't good?

Theres a weird element to our fan base that buries the head in the sand.

Pep nor the team are perfect, they nearly are. But it's fair criticism.

we been brilliant on a great winning run can players/pep have one game where nothing worked we played shit?

I for one will not slag the players of even though so could pick out half a dozen players who were piss poor! They get a pass this game.
