Spurs (H) - Post-Match Thread

Spurs weren't particularly great against us,they just took full advantage of several players rather being elsewhere, and the way we set up,while Pep,other than pacing the technical area, and throwing his arms about, allowed it to continue.

It was a fucking awful game, and an unnecessary loss of points, but neither was it a huge surprise.
So true , Pep 99% of the time is a genius but when he get's it wrong.......

Pep has worked out how to nullify the Chelsea and Liverpool systems, but he still hasn't come up with the right plan to stop Spurs. The Everton game will give us a good idea whether it was just a blip or not. Don't panic!!

Get most of what you're saying Harry apart from the first sentence. We were clearly not the better team at defending on the day, masters of our own downfall.
I'm agreeing with you with my comments re us gifting them their goals - unusually slack defending against a tiny number of Spurs attacks. But I wouldn't praise Spurs' defending - time wasting, feigning injury like WWF, and their whole team parking two or three buses around the box.

Agree mate, really annoying result.

One thing for sure Everton can't afford to do any of that, they need the points like us

Spurs last five games - lost 4, won 1.
Which makes the spurs defeat all the more annoying. Our approach was perfectly set up for Kane and Son. Oh well time to move on, try and forget it and hope this wasn't the result that changed the course of the title race.

That pretty much sums up my thoughts as well.

You could have posted the same message after the CL final v Chelsea.

It’s those”one offs” that could prevent us from winning the CL as you don’t get as many chances to put it right as you do over a PL season.

Dear Manuel, Do you remember eight seasons ago when City beat spurs 6-0 at home and 5-1 away?
How did you do it?
Love Pep.

Dear Pep, I started both games with a winger and two strikers. - And we won the league.
Love Manuel.

The excellent post above tells us a lot about the science, which is an art in itself, and probably trumps luck most days.
I only just saw this but thanks mate. :)
