Spurs (h) pre-match thread

We had all this before Spurs at home last season and whilst they may have gone home with a point, we were miles better than them. This was the game that Sterling should have been given a pen to make it 3-0.

Last season we were pretty average. This season we are spectacularly good and they are flaky as fuck.

Personally I expect another win.

I've noticed several references to them ending our unbeaten start last season. Our team that day had Fernando, Navas and Kolarov in it

Need to really ramp it up here - 14 points going into the Saturday night can be huge for us.

United play at West Brom the following day and I can easily see them struggling to break down a seemingly organised Pardew defence.

And them soon going to an in-form Leicester, is another test of their mettle.

If we can win through to the turn of the year, we could be very surprised by the gap.

Please go back to predicting the end of the run.

If we play to the capabilities that we know we can we win.

Strangely, Spurs and Liverpool are the two teams I think are setup to do the most damage to us in the league I feel.

Both teams are very good counter-pressing teams which when we are slightly off it can kill us, also both are two of the biggest game raisers in the division.

I wonder if Pep may go with Jesus like he did against United and put Raheem as a false 9 again...

As one of the more pragmatic and arguably pessimistic Bluemoon posters, it may surprise you to learn that I confidently predict a 4-2 win for City. Mind you, we will probably bow out of that silly cup competition next week as an in-form Leicester will see it as their only route into Europe and pick a very strong starting eleven.
I would take a cup exit if it means 3 points against Spurs

1977. I suspect I was the curse that resulted in us not winning a trophy for another 34 years. Or is this just a ruse to get my personal details for identity theft purposes?
Surely not worth it? ;-)

If they're smart they will press us like they did at WHL last year. Ordinarily, it wouldn't be a problem but Mangler isnt good enough to play the Stones role and is a liability if pressed. If they do, i think it will be a high scoring game.

Yes that's why I think Mangala may sit this one out. Not his sort of game.

Just play with 10 men?

Seriously how would you line us up without Stones, Kompany and Mangala playing?

We cannot put Fernandino in there - he's too important as a defensive midfield player imo.

Ederson
Walker Otamendi Mangala Delph
Fern
KDB Silva
Bernardo Aguero Sane

Depends on which Spurs side shows up. I had them tabbed to be our only competition this year. I'll take us 3-1.
