Spurs lose the 2012 Stadium to West Ham

Exactly that mate, I know plenty that will jack it in, no way will we fill 60000 either the ground will be more like the Emirates with plenty of corporate suits on a jolly up. Gold and Sullivan have not asked the fans if they want the move once which is very disrespectful. This will never be home, we won't even be the sole tenants with plenty of other events taking place. RIP west ham I feel
I agree about Gold and Sullivan, I pitied you when they took over to be honest, but take the stadium and see how it goes, it might not be as bad as you imagine, we're only "tenants" in our place, but it gave us a platform to grow, and get real investment. One thing I'd suggest is you organise the fans to get in on the organisation/logistics within the stadium, we never did, and years later we still want to change where our/away fans are positioned, with little chance of changing it now.

Glad West Ham have got it and hope it works out for them there.

I just don't like the running track thing. That would be the thing that would piss me off more than anything...atmosphere = none

not at all, I don't particularly like Spurs but it's better for everyone involved if they are given the stadium.
Please explain how it is better for Leyton Orient if Spurs get the stadium? Also please explain how it is better for City if spurs get the stadium? In fact please explain to me how it is better for ANYONE if Spurs ge the stadium and then proceed to pull it down to build a new football stadium?

Because more competition in the league only excels the reputation of the premierleague as the best in the world. If there are 6 world class teams(let's be honest, spurs aren't there yet) all vying for 4 places in the league, we have a league that no other country can even come close to, we attract the biggest talents and the best revenue, England truly becomes the number 1 (club) footballing country in the world, etc.

They didn't plan to demolish it, most of the £500m is spent on the groundwork of the island they built it on, the stadium costs like £140m, spurs were going to dismantle the stadium and recycle it to build their own world class stadium.

I don't see why everyone thinks it's good news for us if every other team is failing because we are going to be the best team in England over the next few years, it doesn't matter how strong any other team is, we will be the best, with the best facilities for youth and and the best stadium, City are only going to get better. Having other teams who can compete with us is a good thing, not a bad thing.

La Liga may have the 2 best teams in the world but what makes the PL the best is the level of competition ;)

cant see it working out for west ham, imagine if it was city 10/15 years ago, we had a loyal 32000 even that amount in there would only half fill the ground, west hams gates could drop well below what they are now if they go down and they might only pull 20,000. the main thing west ham need to do on the strength of this is stay up 'easyer said than done as we know'

Don't get why a running track will ruin the atmosphere, works well in Italy, its the people that need to get up off their arses and make some noise not the way the stadium is designed.

Great news, the longer Spurs stay out of a bigger stadium, the longer they have a low(ish) wage cap and can't compete with us and others in the market.

West Ham have a very similar following and club to ours. Think averaged around 27,000 in the championship and I really cant see them going down thois year with the baggies and blackpool in freefall.

Expect lots of the fairweather essex yids to suddenly develop a penchant for claret and blue.

Really chuffed for them. The spuds don't need a leg-up, they have shit loads of cash. WH do. Well done to them. Who knows, a middle east consortium might come in now and change their lives with them having a world class facility.

Really, Really chuffed for them.

Hope it works out for the 'ammers. i too have a soft spot for them. pity you got sullivan and gold but it could have been worse (levy). I know the running track thing is a pain in the arse , but it might get people up and contributing to the atmosphere more, you never know. it took ages for the city of manchester stadium to feel like home but it is starting too now, also with that stadium at your clubs disposal new money and opportunities may be just around the corner, anyway hope it works out for you.
