Spurs Thread 2012

Re: Harry Redknapp one of the worst managers in PL?

Hes more likely to be the difference between europa league and finishing 7th tbh m8 you can take a set of stats to prove anything but the only thing and I mean the only thing that matters at the end of the season is points on the board.

I wouldn't call Harry Redknapp a "genius" but he is Tottenham's second most successful manager since we joined the Football League in 1908.

Only Bill Nicholson (60.82%) has a slightly better record, statistically speaking, than Harry (60.67%)...

Again, your Rain Man-like obsession with stats clouds your judgement. Success isn't based on win percentages, it's based on trophies. To label this spiv as Spurs' 'second most successful manager' since 1908 does a huge disservice to the numerous managers you've had who've actually backed up their rhetoric with silverware.

all you do is quote figures and fuckin statistics
That's because he owns and runs the site he constantly refers to in an attempt to drive hits. Just view him as a very tedious (and worryingly delusional) spambot.
tbh Blue, have thought him to be a tedious t..t for quite a while and told him so
i don't see how he was let back on the board after his lovely description of the owner that smacks of the racism he often displays

You know your spreadsheets are great but can be summed up in one simple equation

Total Net Spend of City - Total Net Spend of Spurs = City Better than you

For proof of this equation see previous result

Now say thank you for us being gracious enough to lend you adebayor and move along

Well yes, when you run your football club without any regard to financial viability, it's very easy to spend more than Spurs do.

And thanks for Emmanuel Adebayor - he could well prove to be the difference for Spurs between Europa League and Champions League football for 2012-13.

HAHA the old Adebayor on fire for his new club. He will be on his arse by November.

For what it's worth, I completely agree. I thought he was a cretin several years ago on F365 and he's even worse now he's got his own website to constantly plug.

tactically and in the way tottingham play, he doesn't even hold a candle to venables

Or Keith burkinshaw. Two FA cups and a UEFA cup. But i'm sure the rest of his stats are shite though!

To be fair to Redknapp, Spurs were bottom of the league when he took over.

To be fair, they had only played eight games.

Try and digest what i said will you? I'll say it again slowly..."he hasn't finished yet"

It's a great pity that you fail to realise that our Chairman, Daniel Levy, is the one who actually controls the purse strings at Spurs.

And seeing as he's probably the most astute CEO in the Premier League, I think our financial future is in very safe hands indeed.

Just like our owners Lewis is in it to ultimately make money, difference is our owners aren't fuckign around and have invested heavily in the playing squad (including kids which is where Chelsea went a bit wrong) and now the infrastructure to achieve a global brand/vision, yours is trying to do it my selling Crouch replacing with Ade on loan and flogging a few knocked off tele's and some nikes, Redknapp is well suited there but 5 years from now I can see you will still be getting by on the odd gem (Modric) whereas our owners investment in kids will be there for all to see.

Great read! shame people choose to ignore all of this and write about how amazing he is and turns everything he touches into gold ... pity

Re: Harry Redknapp one of the worst managers in PL?

I only read this recently but it's a belter to prove the old saying that a leopard never changes it's spots :

In 1984, AFC Bournemouth were drawn to play our local rivals in the FA Cup 3rd round. It was going to take some giant-killing for the Cherries to overcome Stretford's finest down on the Sarf coast. As is tradition in these types of cup games, the local press, public and businesses all rallied round to build-up the match. The town had cup fever. Local Italian restaurant Di Luca's went as far as offering Bournemouth keeper Ian Leigh free pizzas for a lifetime he kept out the rags frontline. As we all know, Harry Redknapp's charges turned the red bastards over 2-0 and everyone was happy except for Ron Atkinson and his motley crue of slapped arses. Shortly after however, the goalkeeping hero was informed that his "lifetime supply" had ran out. The restaurant had been bought and the new management had decided not to honour the deal.

The new proprietor? Why obviously, one Harry Redknapp.
