Spurs v City - CL QF I - Pre Match Thread

I think we've looked very tired over the last few games and so this is going to be a tough one. I'd like to see Sane and Sterling start out wide and Fernandinho, Bernardo and one of KDB/Silva in the middle. Walker and Danilo at full back with Stones and Laporte at centre back. Aguero up top if fit.

I'd happily take a draw to be honest.

Tough game tonight, Spurs will be really up for it. I suspect we will be very nervous in front of a massive partisan crowd. Suspect the Korean will play a big part for them, too much pace for us to deal with. Hoping for a narrow victory. Be really surprised if we suddenly turn on the gas and play well above our recent form. One thing in our favour is that Spurs will not sit back and defend

It'll be a tough game, hopefully city will win, but I do not think for one second it will be easy.

To be fair, with City having won 22 (?) Of their last 23 games it is hardly surprising your fans are confident. As I have said a couple of times, City are obviously very heavy favourites to win the tie over two legs but I think tonight is 50-50.

Can’t see it myself. Sane will play against palace. I think pep goes with his tried and tested Bernardo and sterling out wide tomorrow with kev and a very subpar Silva in the middle.
Think he'll play Bernardo & Raz, but not Spanish Dave. Reckon mid three will be Fern, KDB & Good Dog

I've been watching City long enough to know nothing is a given so anyone saying that tonight will be a doddle - against a Spurs side that saw off the Bundesliga leaders easily in the last round - needs to have a word with themselves. The new stadium makes it even more intriguing which could well work in Spurs' favour if you start off like a house on fire as the crowd will be bang up for it. Not that they won't be anyway from the off, but if City can get a foothold early on then that ought to quieten the fans down a bit.

Spurs 2-0 City

1. Because I've just heard ABC'''s Look of Love, which was played after the match the last time I went to White Hart Lane and City lost, 1982

And 2. To piss off whoever has deleted my thread and all posts since then

Spuds don’t worry me, they’re really not that good, so I’m going 2-0 to us.

I think Palace away on Sun will be a harder game & the one I’m slightly concerned about.

Do adults still use team names like Spuds, Wet Spam, Shitty, Manure and Liverpoo?

I must be getting old.
