So I think there's first XI is slightly stronger but our back-up is better. As always though we will both be able to play like champions 'on our day', it just depends on which players can perform to that standard most regularly - which is mainly determined by the skills of the manager.

It's all about views and for me

Zaba is better than Ivanovic and prefer Dzeko to Costa as Costa not proven in Premier League

I'd love to agree but trying to be unbiased, I don't. Ivanovic is more versatile, scores a few more and has more discipline but I'd still take zaba any day... Just like I'd still take Danny Tiatto over Clichy.
Dzeko's quiet spells where he seems to lack confidence make me nervous with him.

Felipe Luis is the best LB in the world, nobody should be choosing him over Kolarov let alone Clichy. He has everything in his locker, brilliant player. I am a big fan of Kolarov though, his attacking skills have been a large part of our form over the last year.

I didn't think it fair to rate Negredo over Drogba as he is currently injured.

Zabaleta is regarded as the best rightback in the prem for the last 2/3 seasons, so there is no way Ivanovic would be in any team in front of Zabs, Ivanovic is a very good player mind!

I've tried to create two even teams for the hypothetical City v City match. Kolarov and Zab are our best full backs, so split them up. Split up Mangala and Kompany. Split up Silva and Nasri. Pair Fernando with Yaya to cover Yaya's lack of defence, and Fernandinho with Lampard to cover for Lampard's lack of energy. Then we have two natural pairings upfront. And you get:

Mangala may take Terry's spot and Luis may take Kolarov's spot but the rest pretty much picks itself.
Chose Kolarov for his attacking ability. Would need to see more of Luis to see if he's anywhere near in that regard. I've no doubt he's a better defender but then so is Azpilicueta. Top teams attack!

Chelsea have the strongest first team just ahead of City and Arsenal while the Rags look to have the weakest but they will make it up by being better organised and fitter than most teams. Looks like they've also acquired another coach similar to baconface who used to strike fear into the players. As for us, my big worry is the team may not have the same drive as last season.
