It's not really that he isn't a good player, cause he is. He just doesn't suit our 2 man midfield partnership. In fact I'd go as far as saying he doesn't cut it in a 2 man partnership anywhere. IMO.
It's a case of having an engineer doing a teachers job. The engineer is a valuable asset, but simply doesn't do the job as well as a teacher. Shit analogy, but sometimes you need a change.

He scores on average 8 goals a season, how many did Kompany score for us? Im not saying Kompany is crap by the way, but having De Jong in the centre sort of means we are a bit too defensive in games, the balance isnt there so to speak.
Play Kompany alongs side Ned in the back 4, with DeJong, Ireland and Barry In midfield. Ireland can run riot without needing to worry about defending.
