I don't really know what formation you will be playing. I can see him do very well behind Jong and Ireland, or in between them. As long as he got people around him to do most of the running and dirty work he is excellent. Atleast you would need a 3 man central midfield IMO.

I'd say he'll play along side Ireland with De Jong behind him i think. De Jong is everywhere and so is Stevie so we have a mobile midfield just a very defensive one. He'll basically be the link man keeping our team flowing. Is that his favoured position?

I'm amazed some Villa fans don't rate him that highly and are glad to see him go :S

I think most Villa fans do rate him, just that little thing at the back of the mind that it could be better without him

Cascarino's two pennies worth. He is right about Barry being able to see what we are going to do here. I am convinced he has been assured about a few signings, and if he was in Abu Dhabi at the weekend as has been suggested then he knows money is no object.

I also believe Barry will come straight to Mcr from the England trip
