Stadium Expansion (Confirmed)

If empty seats we have now are anything to go by then the club will be pissing in the wind if they think they will get away with charging over a grand for a seat

Since the empty seats are 99% sold, I doubt the club is that bothered to be honest. As long as someone pays for them, they don't seem to care if the holder turns up or not (hence the Family Stand remaining in its current form, which leads to it looking half-empty at mid-week games).

A price increase I dont have a problem with.

A lot of the things happening now go beyond that IMO.

FWIW I never wanted us to be like the rags off the field.

Oakie sit's in the Colin Bell third tier and has I quote " one of the best seats in the stadium" - so its very very easy for him to comment as his "I'm all right Jack" status comes through loud & clear. Fair Play we all know where he is now coming from.

And by the same token the price is very good for what I wish to see.One of the best seats in the stadium refers to where I like to sit ..higher up.The same was at Maine Road,Main Stand Left Outer Row m/n.Therefore it has nothing to do with cost, but where I like to view from.
Corporate = Income = Better Players = Possibility of winning more trophies.
It sounds as though you wish the takeover had never happened,as you`re coming over as a right miserable sod.

not at all Oakie, but when the likely hood is that we will be forced to move, which in turn means splitting up the eight family & friends who have sat together for the last 10 years (at least) because to get 8 decent seats together will be nigh-on impossible in the new scheme of things.

Here's an idea - why not stick the new corporate seats in the new expanded areas ? oh no, we cannot do that as they are inferior seats - but City are more than happy to split up & move fans with over 125 years of loyalty between them - its so easy for you to comment Oakie as your "best seats in the house" are unaffected.

just got my letter about the 1150 price hike. I sit with a number of friends on varying wages from 30 - 70k and not one has said he is prepared to pay that amount .

There s a reluctance to go to level 3 as some do not like being so high up. So if there aren't blocks of seats available for friends etc i see city having a big problem with this.

I have always took the mick out of arse fans for paying what they do and most probably earn more than us in the NW. Looks like we are about to be told pay-up shift or ship out. Looks like i may have to start playing golf again.

This. Couldn't think of anything worse

fine, I understand the upwards progress thing and corporate blah blah but I paid good money since 1995 to sit in that position and previous to that in the maine stand from 1983. My gripe is that I pay up or move to seats not of my choice whether I like it or not which is hardly a befitting way to treat me and thousands of others like me who have spent top whack but then just been ditched because we couldn't keep up with the price hikes.

The plight of the away fans are being highlighted a lot lately and all that is happening is the cost being pushed onto home fans. If the prices go up then we all know that people won't pay to go to games, it's that simple . You say they are 99% bought but that is prices now and We may have new fans but they aren't the loyal core that have been going for years and have propped up this club when it was in the shit. All these corporates that are going to materialise from thin air and pay stupid prices won't be hanging around long if the wind isn't blowing the right way on the pitch.

I have followed city since 83 would estimate I have been to 700 games. I earn fairly decent money but have simply fell out of love with the commercialism of football. I recently went in a very average footballers 14000 square foot house on the same day I was debating whether to spend 96 pound for me and my dad to go to bayern at home.

I see the likes of Sean wright Phillips earning still 60k a week. Ravel Morrison, Ashley cole, Niall ranger, lee Hughes, roykeane, mark Hughes, Peter crouch, Harry red knapp, big fat Sam, a guy who plays for millwall having his 30th in st tropesz. That average midfielder from wolves being in ok magazine!! I could go on and on and on.

I am quite simply not prepared to go out of my way to pay a tax on my wage which supports this nonsense. Sorry I had to add in Kyle walker!!

I have never felt as low about football ever. I wouldn't dream of paying 1150 for a decent seat. The worlds gone mad.

Exactly Bob ..... Just watch the rags over the next couple of years, they could well implode if they drop out of the top four at some point (which is a possibility and not just wishful thinking) .

Some miserable sods on here. Its only a fookin seat. Does it matter where it is as long as its facing the pitch ?
Sometimes change is good. Im in level 3 and get relocated every early round cup game. I quite like watching the match from a different view.
