When they invested in the late 1990s I don't think they ever thought they would get this kind of regeneration.
Finally - I shudder at the thought of a supercasino in a deprieved area of east Manchester over the Etihad Campus. Good things come to those who wait.

Apart from the reduced viewing quality of the extra 13500 seats at Eastlands, if fully used for 30 matches per season at an average of say, £35 per ticket, it gives a potential of just over £14 million revenue per season. Now I have no idea of the cost of this project but I do wonder how MCFC or it’s current paying fans will benefit
Maybe I’ve got my sums wrong on this but the Citihad juggernaut rolls on regardless

The whacking great pillars will have the drains in. Note that if the roof is sloping inwards the water will need to be pumped from a front 'gutter' as at the Emirates
The poles sticking out are probably the original poles, weren't they were like this on the sketches in the exhibition.
The most exciting thing I noticed is.... They are going to replace the bulbs on top of the towers. Brilliant!

I'm still not sure what happens to the "padded seat" sections. The diagram doesn't indicate any more corporate areas, but the FAQ http://content.mcfc.co.uk/images/waiting-list/SWLFAQs.pdf suggests there will be: (for 2015/16) 2014/15 Seasoncard holders located on Colin Bell Stand Level 2 & East Stand Level 2, impacted by proposed Premium Seating and who do not wish to renew in their existing location – window to relocate to any available seat, including new seats made available via the proposed stadium expansion
I take it from that you'd get priority to move to new areas, but as indicated by others, giving up your tier 2 seat along the side for one in tier 3 behind the goal, even if cheaper, will not go down well.

I don't understand your post. £14m over 5 years is £70m. Is that an unrealistic cost for the work? If not then after 5 years its paid for itself and the club are up £14m a year. Which some will be put back into the club. But that only ticket revenue not including any additional revenue the extra fans bring. How will it not benefit the current paying fans?
Not to mention the fans who could possibly now afford to go after being priced out.

Maybe so,but H & S has to be taken into consideration and mark my words that any consultation over any proposed bids,would have to be done with MCC,GMP and the HSE.
They have probably looked at trying to house the away fans elsewhere,but then you have to take into consideration how easy it is to move those away fans onto their coaches.Its so easy at the moment and more controllable.
All options were considered. Premier league prefer away fans being in part at ground level (could see changes at Newcastle and Sunderland and explains why OT didn't change as per mooted plans)

Also away fans above home fans causes spitting/throwing issues etc so this way they can spit on their own!
As for cup games - whilst more tickets available than for league games, the fact that they use 3 tiers for away fans mean their area doesn't extend to right behind the goal any more as it does now.
