How will this affect the out of town City fans who go to say 10 games a season? Will it mean more seats going over to Corporate and less available to say blue membership card holders? It pisses me off when I can't buy tickets for games when we see so many empty seats - I can see this getting worse following the ground extension.
More seats = less availability?

How does that work?

My question was more seats for whom? If it means some more seats to go on open sale in the weeks before the game then great. But the wording of the email says:

This proposed expansion of the stadium will allow the club to introduce a new season ticket for £299, and to double its hospitality offer too, from 2,500 corporate seats to 5,000.

Perhaps there will be addtional seats but I was asking if this would be the case as it's not specifically mentioned as the objective of this proposal.
That reads to me that there will be an additional 2,500 corporates. Therefore another 4,500 "Normal" tickets?

Does it not to you?

So it gets even worse - so if we moved we would have to sit with 4500 daytripping JCL's ;)

Does it say anywhere that there will be more "match day" tickets available for as a result of the expansion? The way I read it is that corporate tickets will double and the remaining seats (once fans have been relocated) will be for season tickets.

Ok, why don't we just put the price of season tickets up by £50 per person(£1.8m extra on 36k season tickets). Do away with the £299 season ticket. Get full paying customers in there seats.(500 at £299 increased to £550 means another £125,500)
Or just make every season ticket £780 like mine and everyone pays the same for the same football match!!!

Scrap the family stand, make parents pay full price for the kid. It sits in a seat we can sell at a higher rate also.

sort of agree with the sentient but a more practical approach in my view as I hate subsidising other people's sproglets would be to charge kids a higher proportion as they get older

so if the idea is you encourage kids to the ground so they will stay as life long fans then@ 5 yrs 10% of cost 8 yrs 20% 10 years 30% increasing up to 18 so that parents and yoof can plan in advance knowing they will have to make choices about what they spend their money on

Thats way when a young person gets to 18 they know they will have to pay full price but would have had 15 years notice much fairer way to share the costs and deals with the for me, the annoying issue of subsidies to both rich and poor parents, who benefit already by getting tax breaks and family allowance type payments.

+ if as I am sure you do and I do have to earn our money they might be less cavalier about wasting a seat valued at £700 by not turning up if there was a financial loss as result of non attendance

Think we should bring in fines for no shows also.

To the north stand mover at Maine Road. I have been moved many times by development at that ground. I actually ended up sitting in all four stands.
Indeed if it was your dentist and you failed to run up it would cost you lol

Well I won't be there, so they will win. Once-a-season suits will get the best view in the house.

Had a season ticket for 25 years - through the shit and the dross. Will probably jack it in when it does happen - kids (8 year season card & 4 year season card) will be disappointed but its not just about watching the match - it's a social thing as well, we have a great crowd around us that have great banter which is a big part of my "match day experience" which will be lost if we are forced to move. Shame really .

Arrange to all move together

doubt they do that it they will be treated like the pacific islanders who got shifted for american bombers

-- Fri Jul 12, 2013 10:56 am --

I think this is what will happen, season tickets and corporates in the new tier, matchday availability remains as now.

Are we sure about that, I was getting the impression that the new corporate seats were in Level 2 East and West either side of the existing corporate blocks.

I didnt hear much sympathy from people from other parts of the stadium when the north stand was reallocated the family stand and people had to relocate

At the time I was told the club needed to do what it needed to do and I just had to put up with it and I would still be able to have a seat so yeah the stadium is full of "Im alright Jack" types but listen to those same people moan when changes affect them
Unless you can prove they were the same people, your point is null and void.

Chesterguy. I got moved from the North stand as well so your point about people taking an "I'm alright Jack" stance is wide of the mark.

i suspect despite the legit concerns on here about some people moving its not a personal attack by MCFC on select groups of Fans its simply chance.

What we could do as group of MCFC fans is make sure the dispossessed get a warm welcome wherever they end up after the changes

they are part of our wider City Family and those staying put should reflect on what we can do to make the move as pain free as possible

The club are selling our loyalty to corporate, everyone talks about atmosphere, making both the East stand and Colin bell stand level 2 all corporate, will make things worse. Expand yes, move forward, yes, but why not put corporate in the new stand plus new and welcomed supporters in the new stand, then no one need move. Also the club can spread the corporates, to stop creating dead areas. When we play the lesser games these areas are always empty or full of non supporters. Even on big games they are never full. People talk about City having no history, but there is one thing the rest of football know, is the loyalty of all of us, we should all stick together, and stop having a go at one another.

Yes I agree Percy. I would just add that disagreeing with how Tim Glick and other middle management see the the stadium expansion plans - as mainly to boost corporate JCL numbers / income - is not the fans against the Club or other supporters. It is sound football and business sense to move forward as a club with us the fans at the centre of the plans. Can't wait to see the corporates in the new third tier chanting and clapping We Shall Not be Moved.

When I get forced to move i'd like to have a seat from one of these " Let's go forward" or "So what" crew. They'd soon be kicking off on here if that happened

fine with me fella. Im in 301.

I sit in 204

I get the whole expansion plan and building up revenue and they have my support like all blues to do what it takes to bring entertaining and winning football to the Etihad.

But kicking city fans out of their seats is wrong for a number of reasons:

1. Many of these city fans have been watching city for years we should have a voice.
2. We will be penalised by being put in the third tier behind a goal
3. What sort of city fans are going to sit in our place, the type who turnup in January to watch a league cup game I dont think so.
4. I already pay a lot of money for my seat, why isant that enough

Thought I’d bump this thread as what’s happened to L2 East stand, padded seats, is inevitable for level 1 when the expanded north stand is completed
We’ll be looking down admiring all those half and half scarves

I suspect you're right.

I've been in 105 since the stadium opened but will move to the new NSL2 if (and when) I'm priced out.
