stephen Ireland....one season wonder ,or not?

Depends what the OP means by "one season wonder."

Is it suggesting that Ireland suddenly found some talent (just for one season, like you do), or is it suggesting that by neglect he could turn out to be only that for City?

Precisely. I think if the scum get their grubby hands on him it will halt their decline. He is exactly the type of player they are missing.

he has created absolutely everything for us the last few games.

When Joke figured how to mark him today we had no other option. He did fade, but I think he had lost interest by then.

you must watch different games to me.
saying that i have to admit i tend to see the negative in him because he just doesnt cut it for me!

Robinho made him into a better player since they read each other so well, our most beautiful football came last season when Robbie, Ireland, and SWP/Elano were linking up together. No Elano + no Robinho = worse Ireland.

At last someone with a brain , Ireland plays good football when surrounded by good footballers who like to go forward . Until we start to attack teams we wont see the good Stevie Ireland .
And thats where the problem is, if the teams playing well he plays well but when were bad and we need someone to change things he disappears.

Agreed. If we sell Ireland he will come back to haunt us, BIG TIME. If used correctly Ireland is a bloody great player.

everyone seems to be implying that its everybody elses fault for irelands loss in form apart from his! bollocks! any 'great' player should be able to get themselves into a game and get involved, not dissapear like he so often does.

Created our goal with a superb through ball. Then gets taken off for a defensive midfielder.

He must be absolutely sick of it.

best footballer in the club by a country mile, sooner we realise it the better.
De jong limiting his ability to shine in the team.were playing with 5 in defence at home v stoke city!ffs

this^^^^^
we can't keep blaming everybody else.stevie himself has already blamed Hughes ( allegedly) , but the truth is he doesn't look a patch of the player he did last season( for whatever reason) . I personally would like to see him given a run playing "in the hole" & see if he regain last seasons form and possibly confidence .but at the same time it's fair to say we can't afford any "passengers"
ps this carlsberg export is effin strong

He was fantastic in the first half, really positive, created our goal, forward passing and was always willing to get into the box and get forward. 2nd half he fell away a bit and got taken off for the slow arse Viera. Must start for me.
