Sterling racially abused by Chelsea fan?

Funny how those in charge want to focus on FFP and money, yet the more serious issue of racism in football in Europe including our own country just gets brushed under the carpet.
Nah, keep up mate, UEFA have a token anti racism campaign so it's all good. Hooliganism and the Ultra problem went away for good when they banned the English clubs as well.

It's all pathetic token gestures. That "No to racism" advert they put on the big screens before Champions League games makes me actively nauseous. If they followed it up with banning players and clubs from various competitions then I'd be more inclined to believe that they actually want to make an effort to solve the problem, but what we end up with is clubs being fined more for arriving late for the second half than teams whose fans have racially abused players on the pitch. Again, another example of the system continuously failing the people it claims to represent.

Good post. That Kick it Out campaign is toothless - it might be well intended but it seems to be designed to show that football is trying to tackle the problem (no pun intended) when quite clearly it is not. No wonder Lescott and others snubbed it.

I haven't seen any official comment from Chelsea as yet. When it's antisemitism they're (rightly & creditably) all over it yet when it's directed against a black player they've seemingly nothing to say.
Tbf they've let it be known they're investigating, they might be keeping their powder dry until they've dealt with the fuckers so they can present it as a fait accompli.

Late to the thread so apologies if already said. This is not only a race issue but a sustained attempt at destroying a young guys life driven by the pro Liverpool press mainly orchestrated by the sun in an attempt to curry favour with them. To see young Burnley fans giving him the finger shows how deep the crusade has gained traction with the national mind set. Those who have been part of this need to take a long hard look at their actions.

Well they would be hypocrites. They employed John Terry after all.

I know way too much about Raheem than I have to thanks to the papers and the gutter press.

Hi I’m a Chelsea Fan, for us a great result yesterday but a great performance has been tainted by three idiots
In 04/05 season Our first Premiership Title I had some vile foul mouthed Racsit moron sat next to me. I asked him to tone down his language but to no avail. We played Arsenal at home in about February he went to the next level, abusing Sol Campbell for being black and ex Spurs ( you can guess what he was saying) I had enough on the Monday I emailed Chelsea Football Club, with 30 minutes they replied with a phone number asking me to call. I did and spoke to the head of the ground forget his name now. I could hear him taking down notes and he assured me the club would look into it adding that we want to rid football of this but even with stewards and CCTV they still need the help of the fans.
For other reason I moved my seat ten rows forward fit the following season I was at the back of the stand.
We played Arsenal at home in our 2nd game.I caught up before a game in the November with some of the guys I used to sit near, they told me that a bloke was sitting in my old seat for the Arsenal game with a big coat for the time of year.About 20 minutes into the game the Racsit Moran started with his vile crap, the gentleman in my former lent sideways pulled out a walkie talkie and a few minutes later coming up both gangways was three security guards the guy in my old seat pulled out his Chelsea pass told the Moran to come with him. He was never seen again,Chelsea cancelled he season ticket and for the remainder of the season sold it on a game to game basis.
I’ve been going to Chelsea for years and can remember the awful days of the late 70’s early 80’s when the National Front created a atmosphere of Outside our stadium of fear, which was transferred into the ground and resulted in the unacceptable treatment of blacks players. Chelsea have had more than there share of morons I can’t argue that. As a club we’ve moved on and changed dramatically but there will always be incidents like yesterday that raise there head, I think it is important that WE fans from which ever club we support pitch in at time and help our clubs fight this cancer.
I applaud Raheem Sterling statement I think the media have a lot to answer for his treatment. I think Raheem is a good player with lots of skill but can be frustrating at times. Our media always seem to want a scapegoat today Raheem, before Rooney, Ashley Cole the list goes on.
I truly hope Chelsea identify the scumbags from yesterday and ban the, The Met prosecute them and their employers sack them, wonder if they will then accept responsibility for their actions or blame someone else.
