Stoke Vs City Post match Discussion Thread

The place is a bear pit and a very good point.

We're like a world title boxer at present, feeling our way through the early exchanges, taking the occasional blow.

The class is undoubted and while there will always opponents with a punchers chance, once the ring rust has been shaken off, just a case of stepping on the gas and choosing when to start delivering killer blows.

Top four, two points behind a Chelsea who have had it piss easy so far, a very encouraging start.

On the flip side, think we are going in with a true super heavyweight on Tuesday and we need to hold on for dear life.

One up top on Tuesday for me (Tevez), with Nasri, Yaya and Silva tucked in behind him, and Garcia and Barry behind them. I'd snatch your hand off for a point right now.

Rodwell can play in defense maybe sub Lescott and stick him in to tighten the derfense/ I think there too many changes all these new people coming on at the one time kinda breaks up the City momentum

If we do get a win, will RM be vindicated in his decisions today? I wonder if Dzeko will start on Tuesday , it might be his sort of game too.

Not sure why the Barry for Tevez sub is so hard to understand?

He wanted Yaya further forward, so had to sacrifice a forward player. Mario goes back for corners and is decent at getting a clearance in, so he needed to stay on. We needed to maintain the width so Nasri and at that point Sinclair had to stay on. Yaya had to go in the hole, where Tevez was. Tevez isn't a wide player whereas Nasri can play there, so he took Tevez off.

The Yaya further forward sub has paid of plenty of times so it can't be criticised.

Personally i'd have swapped Silva for Nasri at the same time, but it shouldn't be hard to understand the Barry Tevez sub. You have to maintain shape and the "took a striker off and a def midfielder on at 1-1" argument is very naive.
A man who understands the game.

Take a bow, mate.

Maybe ....

but too much 'thinking' can often work against you ..... and todays subsitution hardly paid off

strikers usually win you games , and we took a very good one off at an important time ...

you'd back Tevez to score every time , even late in a game , before you'd back Balotelli (who's real JOB , inbetween defending corners , is to actually win you games!)

Charlie Adam got away with quite alot today.
just be happy the fat cvnt didnt injure anyone

He really is a nasty ****. He knows he is a crap player and takes his jealousy out on those better than him by trying to injure them. He's already done Bale twice.
