Guys,

Stop getting giddy and ahead of ourselves. People talking all manner of nonsense and looking ahead to the final day.

Taking the Everton game for granted.

Just like Wigan. Just like Wigan(again). Just like Sunderland.

Let's not be those fans. We can relax a little on Sat IF the 3 points are won, and then its over to Liverpool to see how they fare v Palace.

But lets not jump too far just yet.

Everton is a bloody big game, and a damn good team.

Focus.
Spot the fuck on.

I can't repeat enough (and i said this dozens of times in the run-in two years ago) with United (then) and Liverpool (now) getting all over excited and giddy and singing "we're gonna win the league" at Blackburn (Rags two years ago) and Spurs onwards (Liverpool now) with their players (both clubs) displaying celebrations after games like they've already won it when there's so much still to play for.....we need to remain calm and focused.

Everyone needs to calm the fuck down!

The way i see it is that we have to completely forget about all the talk of "the Premier League trophy" "champions" "winning the league" finishing top" "we're going to do it"...ignore all of that. And just concentrate on Everton Football Club at Goodison Park, Everton, Liverpool at 17:30 on Saturday. that's it. Nowt else.

Let's go there and do the job we need to to win that game.

That's it for now.

Ignore the rest of the furore surrounding the run-in and concentrate!

Which would be OK if that's what we were actually doing, can you point us to one thread saying this? Have we as fans actually organised a heroes welcome for the team bus for next Wednesday? Have we had the tee shirts printed?

What you are doing is projecting your own fears and insecurities on tot he rest of us, who on the whole are all very grounded and realistic

Thank you, you saved me a lot of typing.

My thoughts entirely but far better put.

I think people are just happy we are back in it. Everton is enormous now and I'm not taking it for granted.

All we have to do is look to our captain, cool personified yesterday in his post match interview, we as fans will be either giddy, pessimistic or grounded, he knows what the team had to do and how to keep them focused...

I'm never confident we will win many, if any game. It's the typical City nature and makes every win even more emphatic ;)

Have I got this right, people can correct me if I am wrong.

So after waiting for 37 years bar the odd moment in lower league football, we finally have a team to get excited about and think we could actually win the title, again from what looked an unwinnable position, we are now told we can not get a little giddy or excited at the prospect with 3 games to go.

Fuck, is there any point in being a fan if you can't dream of lifting the trophy with 3 just games to go.

Nowt wrong with being excited and a bit giddy, think it's more to do with being a bit more grounded, unlike the dippers who have been selling the champions t shirts for the past few weeks...

We might be getting a bit giddy, but not this giddy...

I'm just glad the way we beat Palace- so fuck souness and his shit banter about how we should have put on a show. The fact that the performance was solid and professional until the ends means we have complete focus as a similar performance I believe will beat Everton. If we'd have won 5-2 for instance - complacency would creep in added to that we'd have had our defence breached twice. As for getting excited I think we all are deep down- why wouldn't we be- we just handle it differently- some show it in over confidence and others like me keep it contained and put on realistic front as we know it wouldnt be surprising to go there and lose 1-0. But anyway keep the faith boys- we've waited for this for a long time- the players have their mojo back and sergio looks desperate to bag a couple. 2 titles in three years is what dreams are made of. CTID!!
