Been awake since 4am expecting to hear a crash of tiles or similar. Nothing obvious but expect some carnage when I get up to survey the damage shortly. Taking some hope from the fact planes still seem to be landing.

What's it like now down South? Judging from the fact the BBC have pushed it down the news stories, it's hitting the north much worse?

It certainly sounds worse than the last storm that caused all the problems I expect carnage reported on tonight's local news.

Yeah Thursday was given the big build up but was nothing really. This definitely feels worse.

Thursday caused me damage, this one is definitely worse.

Been a howling gale since around 9 last night. Worst of the three storms, by a distance.

In the middle of the North Atlantic 1978 in a hurricane.Got hit by a freak wave at 3:30 am and everyone bailing out water, fighting to repair the damage to the accomodations and engine room which also got flooded, scary time.

That’s the howlingest, noisiest wind I can remember for many a long year! Been awake since 3.00 am good job I can sleep during the day, if the wind drops!

Not at Manchester they’re not! Only one aircraft has landed recently from what I can see, everyone else is either still up there or has diverted. Qatar has gone around twice
