Strange Boozers you have been in

That was Robinsons, it’s German for Unicorn, like the one off their logo. Hyde’s did the same with Amboss (anvil).
I never cared for Lees’ beer or their pubs back in the day, so don’t ever recall what their lager was called.
Correct, when my Robison’s local started selling Tennants Extra Lager they had to pay a surcharge if the Einhorne sales didn’t match the Tennants. So any unsuspecting customer who ordered a pint of lager instead of naming one of the two brands were always served with Einhorne.

My favourite every time I visited the travelodge next to it.
Lock in every time.
2 brothers from Ayrshire use to go as well.

Two Lagers FOC’s may remember, Sam Smith’s lager Ayingerbrau (spelling?) and Oldham Breweries lager Alpine, about mid 70’s onwards, remember the latter had a green and blue pump bit it’s nearly 50 years ago and my memory may be playing tricks.

On the mention of unicorn, the Unicorn in Hulme was special. This flat roofed estate pub had a massive horn or spire thing built above the entrance. A very basic local local where the gents cubicles had no doors for some time. Grenalls pub in early 80’s

Remember going to Oldham many moons ago just for a change , few of us got a pint of j.w lees lager , our lips touched it , we got up and left immediately, vile stuff
Without doubt JWL produce the worst beer in the UK although Sam Smith's give it a run for it's money.

The only positive is you'd never be done for drink driving.....horrid stuff.
