The only scabs on here are the ill-informed, selfish, uneducated fools who deny their class roots and believe the right wing press. I'm behind all the unions. They are the only thing stopping this country going back to the workhouse days of Victorian England.

I pity you thick bastards.

interesting you don't pull anything from my post as wrong! or any of the others?? I'm working class never needed a union, I work hard, don't skive, don't go sick! I don't read the right wing press, make my own opinions from life experiences!!

Whose the thick bastard???

Okay, so you don't need a union. Fine, but don't just slag them off and point fingers at the people at the top. That's easy, no facts are needed, just post a pic of Bob Crow having a glass of Champers and he's as guilty as sin.
Unions are crucial to life in this country. They provide legal help and advice to their members and in this age of litigation, that is essential for people in health and education especially.

And contrary to popular belief on this thread, everyone in a union isn't a lazy, long term sick waster.

Just look what would have happened to BA's cabin crew if Willy Walsh got his way. Wages slashed by 60% is what. How could you fight BA if you weren't unionised???

P.S. Brooklandsblue2.0 - You are a fucking cretin.

Why the f**k do public sector workers have these crusades to have EVEN better or even maintain their current above the line pensions?? Jesus wept they are so deluded and full of shit it makes me want to vom!

I hate HATE HATE unions. Lazy back slapping champagne socialist SCUM! If I see a 'picket line' I might they won't get a honk but more likely me turning sharply and mowing a few down.

Good on the posters wife who values work over trouble making lazy twunts.
well the next time the nurses are out on strike defending your local hospital or the firemen or ambulance men striking against closing your local station i hope you have a change of heart

cyber i see what you are doing here...all the emotive subjects!! very good!

Look at British airways.... best paid in the business, best conditions! the unions have strangled them to get their own way! No worries from them about bringing a british icon to their knees!

Interestingly the chief union negotiater called off the strike for a few weeks for dialogue.........guess what..............yep him and his mrs flew abroad for one of his annual holidays!

What if BA went bust over it??? unions wouldn t give ashit thats for sure!

While i'm on a bout it how can a union order a ballot and they get a low turnout (say 35%) and they can still call a strike!? Unions are bullies!

Employment law protects employees NOT unions!

Employment law is there BECAUSE of unions. Now that private sector firms have pretty much had union rights eroded you have been fucked over you are slagging off those that can stand up for themselves?
Government is looking at changing employment rights as it is. Private pensions were fucked over and you HAD NO CHOICE but to accept otherwise you lost your job. These people willing to stand up and be counted may well protect future generations from having nothing. As long as you sheep are happy with the status quo (ie fucked over whenever it suits your company) enjoy

So you would be happy with someone telling you that you won't get a pay rise for two years even though the cost of living is going through the roof, also all the years that you have put in so you can live a decent retirement is being took away even though you signed a contract. If you do you are full of shit mate. I'm not a huge union fan as per my previous post but you can't blame people for looking out for their future.

So if you had been working for BA for 20 years earning good money and having great perks, then one day the boss said "fuck that for a game of soldiers... no more perks and I'm slashing you wages by 60% to match that Ryan Air bunch"... would you quietly accept it or fight for your rights, your livelihood and your contract of employment, which had been agreed and honoured for so many years?

I have no problem with 'scabs' crossing the picket line but when the new terms and conditions are negotiated etc then those fuckers don't get them, they have to get what was been offered by the government originally. As a bloke said to me at work yesterday we don't need the publics sympathy or backing there are that many people affected by these pension reforms (millions) that we don't care if private sector don't like or care about it. If you guys are happy with been shit on by your employers then carry on, we (public sector) are not.

You must live in a bubble of your own self importance in the public sector then. You go ahead then and keep throwing away a days pay, and as salfordpaul said earlier your union bosse won't be doing that, because that's all the 5m public sector workers will achieve without the support of a majority of the 25m private sector workers

So you think the country and government can function without the public sector then? let's see how much gets done when your bins aren't emptied, kids aren't schooled, fires not put out etc, I'm sure the private sector will help out won't they? We need both public and private sector to run this country, like I said before how far would you let your employer go before you stood up for yourself? Many of these pensions have already been amended 5 years ago, should people pay more yes I believe so but pay it for longer for less, no thanks.
