Fuck me, some people need to get a grip.

They've run a double page spread on ( with all respect to Mad Eyed Screamer, who did a great job ) very much a minor interest story about someone who got sent off in a youth game over a quarter of a century ago.

Also, anyone who gets angry about the subject of meaningless polls in regional newspapers, probably needs to get out a little more.

I received a nice PM from MES only this morning asking me if I had read the nice MEN write-up,as I`d helped him out with a small favour, for last nights get together. He didn`t appear to have moaned at all about the write up.

Don't sell yourself short Oakie! It was no small favour but a big one and on two occasions :)

Just for your information, I wrote the article not the picture captions. I have already made my feelings on the shoddy caption known to the sports editor
You're one of about 4 sports journalists I follow from the US and UK. You do good work!

Stuart, if it is really you, fair play to you for coming on here and taking the flak, so here is a serious question. Do the editors/owners of our own paper not realise the disgust we feel towards a Manchester paper ?
Do they not question the perceived bias towards the Rags ?
Newspapers need people to buy the paper or advertisers will not pay their money and yet The M.(U) E.N. seemed determined to drive us away.
Seriously, if you are the Stuart Brennan, WTF is going on ?

what a load of crap.

If by 'we' he means all bluemoon members or City supporters feel 'disgust' towards the MEN then he's wrong.

Look back at Brennans post history regarding 'bias', He very eloquently dispels that myth as well.

I'm also sure that someone who's been in the newsprint game for years knows a hell of a lot more about the business of selling newspapers than BM.

Anyone who starts a sentence with 'seriously' will, paradoxically, never be taken seriously.

Brenneans match reports are far and away the best i read regarding City.

I don't mind Stuart Brennan stoner he seems fair
It's the other fuckwits at the paper i have a problem with,as they have a problem with our club, and always have done.

I follow Stuart Brennan and the MEN remains one of the regular sites I look at.

Fans go talk an awful lot about bias against City in the media, well the bias against City is a lot lot less in the MEN than in the other papers. So for that reason alone I like to read it

I think they missed a trick with their online edition. Should make it interactive, that way a lot more people would visit it and stay there, but they went the other way. Biggest mistake they have made.

The best non-City web-sites out there I find are the Guardian football. I like their comments, and for news Goal.com

The more people who stop buying it,maybe then they will get the hint, surely it must be a concern to them if readership drops as advertisers may think twice about placing adverts....
I think the biggest advertiser is Manchester City council, who have to publish legal notices. Whether they are read by two people or two million does not concern them so long as they fulfil their legal obligations.

well said, Guardian comments are often hilarious, as well as a good cross section of opinion, regarding the MEN, it annoys as many rags as blues so it is not the demon some think it is
