Sorry to contradict but BSI from the 60's, long before EU, used the day, month, year. One of the first things I learnt as a clerk in '65.I'm afraid your wrong Fred, UK used to do it Month date year and America copied the UK, then UK changed to fit in with Europe. So USA still doing it the British way
(as they are with a lot of measurements like British Thermal units)
