Ignorant. Car/van drivers think they are being helpful to other car/van users by keeping the road clear. They simply don't think about prams, wheelchairs, pedestrians in general, they think they are a good driver because other cars can easily pass. Tossers.Currently, as I type, a van has been parked all day on the corner of my road, blocking a dropped kerb. I've witnessed one old lady in a disabled scooter, unable to access the pavement and having to travel 50 yards down the main road, passing parked cars and too close to vehicles coming toward her.
Selfish? Indifferent? Ignorant?
If I find my pavement blocked, I make sure I scratch the vehicle with my stick.Ignorant. Car/van drivers think they are being helpful to other car/van users by keeping the road clear. Tammy Wynette sang about that, or was it Dolly Parton ?Missus has just bought a red car and wants to park it on the drive
Our estate is about 40 years old now and the pavements are beginning to sag or the kerbs are falling in due to the weight of the vehicles being parked in this way. It’s a right mess in places. Then there’s the dickhead near me that allows his garden shrubs to take up a third of the pavement width and also parks his car on it leaving about 3 inches to squeeze past. All the while his driveway remains empty.Ignorant. Car/van drivers think they are being helpful to other car/van users by keeping the road clear. And we have the opposite problem - a nobhead who's just moved into a new build on the main road (with clearly not enough off-street parking) 50 yards from our cul-de-sac has made it his life's work to block the top of our road with his works van EVERY F**KING DAY by NOT using any of the pavement (its not illegal to put 2 wheels on the pavement outside 'special' London) resulting in Amazon/Hermes delivery vans having to swerve around his van into the path of home owners trying to get out of our road!Ignorant. But that sounds like he’s doing the right thing. If he’s not causing an obstruction on the road and other vehicles can still pass by. Like I said earlier, pavements are not designed for the heavy vehicles and end up with churned up tarmac or broken and uneven paving slabs. Things we all have to pay for to be repaired. And we have the opposite problem - a nobhead who's just moved into a new build on the main road (with clearly not enough off-street parking) 50 yards from our cul-de-sac has made it his life's work to block the top of our road with his works van EVERY F**KING DAY by NOT using any of the pavement (its not illegal to put 2 wheels on the pavement outside 'special' London) resulting in Amazon/Hermes delivery vans having to swerve around his van into the path of home owners trying to get out of our road!
