I really hate that too. BBQs are fine, but they shouldn't be socially acceptable in urban areas. Fine on Australian beaches or in gardens of houses miles away from anywhere else.
At least my neighbours are predictable enough so I know when not to hang the washing out & when to close all the garden facing windows.

When the toilet roll is fitted to the holder the wrong way round, as in the second picture above. Don't know why it winds me up so much, but I always have to turn it round.
